blood vials is the worst feature of bloodborne imo. If you're new to the game or new to souls-likes in general its such a brutal punish that can basically softlock you if you're not careful. Especially early game when they're so limited when you're still trying to figure out the game, I've seen multiple streamers get frustrated by running out and having to farm for them. I saw at least one rage quit the game completely. It just takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I hope if they ever remake/remaster the game they handle it differently.
