The cubs choked plain & simple. & It was laid on Bartman. Gonzalez boots a routine play, Prior is hanging curveballs as his arm is about to fall off from throwing over 120 pitches & good old Dusty just sits on his ass & watches it all.
@WrongedSportsАй бұрын
I just felt bad for all of the older Cubs fans. But also Dusty Baker mis managed this game by even bringing Prior back for the inning. I know he averaged 120 pitches but this was a close out game you can use your closers

Shout out to my Marlins fan's who are watching this again, after seeing it live. The true few of us there are. I was 14 years old watching this in my bedroom. Listening to Stevie Wonder "Superstition" weird tradition I had during these playoffs when the Marlins were batting. 35 now, and tbh other than the birth of my daughter, this was probably the best day of my life.

Broadcaster is a village idiot. Calls a double down the left field line a hit to right field. Says a pitch to Sosa was down the middle when it was on the corner, and says the runner was out by 30 field. None of it true and accurate

i love how cubs biased the booth is; "prior only had a one run lead to work with, and that can tire a guy out, although i am not saying that is true here, prior has been bred to be tougher than any other pitcher..."as the marlins knock his ass out of the game and stick it to the cubs and their pathetic fans. they are at game six, and their big moment is chanting "asshole." Slightly better than yelling racial epithets at the opposing teams outfielders, but classic cubs bullshit. worst fan base in baseball. trump 2024.

Chip was a very good announcer. But he showed quite a few times that he was not an expert on the game of baseball.

LMAO. Never noticed this before, but Lyons makes the statement, "That's just a little kid, you can't fault him" referring to Bartman. Knowing that crowd I don't think it would've mattered.

Came here after the Yankees 5th inning collapse. Just imagine if the same thing here had happened to the Yanks!
Steve Bartman looked so nerdy, and because of that everyone made him out to be a scapegoat. It was too easy for all those people to put the blame on him. Life is really mean, sometimes!

I love how the FOX camera crew panned at Steve Bartman who has a blank expression on his face after interfering with the foul ball in the 8th inning. With the earpiece he was wearing, fans would wonder was someone talking to him from outside Wrigley Field or was he just listening to a radio broadcast of the game?

What really warms my heart here is that as the inning begins these announcers are talking about the Cubs going to the World Series as if they've already won the game. Seeing them fall apart after Bart's bobble just thrills me to no end. I could watch this a thousand times and still feel the joy of knowing the Cubs had it all in their hands and simply let it slip away. All because their left fielder Alou made a show out of nothing because that ABSOLUTELY was not fan interference. Not even close to being fan interference.
@thegrandpencil43742 ай бұрын
Yes, Bartman and the other fans should have been smarter and backed away. Yes, afterward, Gonzalez should have made the routine play at short. But really, when you think about it, it was the umpire who is most to blame. If he had called interference, the Cubs win and go to the World Series and none of this happens.
