I don't understand the mentality that the Oilers need to have an elite goalie to win. The past 10-15 years, how many of those elite goalies won the Cup? I could only think of MAF and Vasilevskiy. The rest are decent to good goalies. Roloson was a mediocre goalie who went to the finals and could have won the Cup in 6 if he didn't get hurt

I don't care if Skinner had a 0% save percentage. You don't win games without scoring goals. No focus or blame should be put on Skinner. Now if it's a 4-3 or 3-2 game, sure we can dissect his performance. Until the Oilers score, nobody should be looking at Skinner. Just my thoughts. Oilers played better than Florida and you're absolutely right, 8 times out of 10 the Oilers win that game. That's exactly why it's a 7 game series and by the end there will be no flukes or lucky teams. Oilers proved in game 1 that they can win this series. Now they just need to find a way to get it done.

I think it is absolutely stupid that both teams don't touch their conference winner's trophy. If anything it shows a lack of respect to the names associated with those trophies. So either celebrate that monumental victory, or the NHL should just get rid of those trophies entirely. Ugh, ok must refrain from going on a rant about superstitions lol. Oilers will lose game 4 too !

Looking back at all the goals scored against the Oilers. McDavid was late to check his man on the first goal. McDavid was in a bad position for the 2nd goal, although I suppose you could say the same for the other forwards as well. The third goal Ryan has no business chasing Benn on that play, just stupid. The last goal Skinner lets in a softie. Honestly the defense actually wasn't all that bad, I would put it more on the forwards being unable to support the defensemen at least on the goals that were scored. Another way to easily confirm all of that is the amount of pressure Dallas was able to bring in the 2nd and 3rd period compared to Edmonton. Forwards need to be more positionally aware, this coming from someone who watched the Vancouver Canucks a lot and the way their forwards often support their D.

Oilers out in 4. Dirty teams shouldn't get a berth in the Stanley Cup. A lot of Oiler fans are so happy about beating the third string goalie......the Stars will set things straight.

It doesn't matter how strong one team is or how much depth one team has. You can't underestimate any team in the playoffs. Boston underestimates the Panthers last year and this year. Winnipeg underestimates the Avalanche and the Golden Knights 3 years ago underestimate the Habs.
