Question for Doug, are you playing through the Boss Katana? If so great tone. I have the Katana 100 and regardless of my tweaking efforts I'm not getting that great of tone on a number of pedal steels. I enjoyed the Q&A and the performance.

It’s called “Tempered Tuning”They can sound ok until you add a piano player onto the stage. You’ll def hear a tune clash.

That acoustic player is no slouch. Really good player.

I have a Steel player/mentor player/friend that played for Gene Watson….Bill Dearmore. I’m 63 and took up the PSG 8 years ago. It’s always been my fav instrument as well. I had some back surgery failure and could no longer stand up long enough to Front a band as the lead singer and was pretty much forced to have to sit down. Since I had to sit down it if I wanted to keep playing I picked the pedal steel. I play a few different instruments ,but the PSG is the most challenging and sounds like Heaven to me.
