When he finally started "just playing" (after Band of Gypsies), his fame diminished very quickly...in three years he became "famous", NEVER MADE ANY MONEY, his biggest hit was written by Bob Dylan (so no royalties), drug accusations ruined his reputation, and then he was murdered (by manager for insurance money)...and HARDLY anyone (in the USA) has EVER heard of Tony MacAlpine...SAD. As close as any record company would EVER allow ANOTHER "black (non-singing) rock guitarist": Slash - who "passes" as WHITE. Now "the Hendrix legacy" is owned by his "adopted" sister (his blood-brother gets NOTHING) and an executive from Microsoft.
