Do you only troll when you kayak? How fast do you need to be going when trolling?
@jasonvalle10467 жыл бұрын
Fornwith I drift and paddle. speed only matters if your using lures.
@fornwith44117 жыл бұрын
Jason Valle Yea I was using some lures, but not sure how fast I need to be going. If your using live bait you can just semi drift / paddle? I just started kayak fishing so any tips would be solid.
@jasonvalle10467 жыл бұрын
Fornwith yeah with lures faster the better on a kayak but if using dead or live bait you can just drift around

Any recommendations on a offshore kayak fishing guide in your area? Will be going there the end of May this year, the wife and I . You got some great fishing there brother!
@jasonvalle10468 жыл бұрын
I offer guided tours I work under a close friend and fellow pacific warriors discovery channel fishing partners guiding called coastal kayak tours you can visit coastal kayak tours.com but I believe the fishing has been removed off the site as it is hard to line up a day with good conditions for blue water with clients. I usually take over his fishing clients and the owner does the "Eco tours" or rentals. If you give me a call at least a week in advance of your arrival I can do my best to line up a day to take you out. It all has to do with the weather cooperating.

+Jason Valle thanks Jason. I guess by the last week of May, the seas should be ok for offshore fishing. Here in Florida, it gets glassy nice. Some thunderstorms but flat water. Will contact you as soon as it is definite.

Wow....That is a little far for me. You know an area where I could try that is less than 1 mile? And thanks for the reply.
@jasonvalle10469 жыл бұрын
try trolling a crystal minnow nearshore on west side stay just behind the surfline 15-20ft. of water. the wind us generally lite in the morning hours year round on that side
@davidatchison37359 жыл бұрын
Great video...nice catch. I was thinking to try kayak fishing but I not in so great shape. How far out do you have to kayak? How long did you fish? Thanks and much ALOHA from Ewa Beach
@jasonvalle10469 жыл бұрын
about 1-2 miles offshore for pelagic. I wouldn't go that far unless i trusted my fitness. its not your arms that get you in trouble its the weather. knowing the area and a lot about how weather affects the ocean is a huge advantage. ive been kayak fishing for 4 years.

eh brah, i enjoy all your videos. Wondering if i could ask for some tips... what you troll with? ive been trying to use akule and different kinds of lures but havent gotten lucky yet. Also, whats your set up? ive been using an old 6' ugly stick with a 4/0 senator. mahalo
@jasonvalle104610 жыл бұрын
thanks for watching james. im using a 80# rating full steel eyes tidewater rod with a penn squall 60 lever drag reel. 60# leader. akule will work but i prefer to use live opelu. lures work when the fish are hungry i use crystal minnows about 4 inches. try to stick along deep drop offs and ledges aloha.
@jasonvalle104610 жыл бұрын
as for your reel and rod setup i definately recommend all still eyes and a rod between 6 and 7 feet. the reel should be lever drag so you can leave it on free spool then set the drag instantly to set the hook. especially good when dragging dead or live bait.
