I remember seeing that at the movies and they had it in there.

A perfect example of how a sequel can actually damage the original. This (and all the sequels) should never have been made. Looking forward to the remake, though.

I think the rare version is when he says 1-800-poud. They originally edited the line for tv before deciding to just remove it completely. The only way to see that version is if someone recorded it off tv. Anyone who has the vhs can see this version.

"1-800 Pound" was the TV edit, initially.

In short, the bedroom scene isn't ambiguous at all unless your preconceived notions are such that you're squinting your eyes & tilting your head sideways to override the obvious cinematic tells of human nature...somehow deluding yourself into thinking "well despite 2 of them looking blanched white & the other 2 halting their actions at the same time, they probably all rallied and still had sex!".
@JB-wh3we3 ай бұрын
Lol you have to go out of your way to project out that "they had sex". Its obvious they didn't. Which molds the films message into "trends can create a compelling rationale to override your conscience...but (as the film's tagline says) consider the possibilities...". The ending puts an exclamation on this. Their facial expressions on the elevator (note the symbolism of the elevator taking them all back down to the ground) is of a mutual humbling embarrassment and relief of returning from the brink. And the song, especially combined w/ the searching faces in the crowd, is about the gratitude & rarity of finding love (not to be confused w/sex) w/ someone. Robert Culp's face says it all when he's staring at Natalie Wood.

I just rewatched “Easy Rider.” Sorry, that movie sucks. There are thirteen lines of dialogue in the first 20 minutes. The two main characters fund their trip by pulling off a drug deal. But it didn’t appear that they were intended to be interpreted as bad people. This movie is a soundtrack-that’s about it. I sat there watching this thinking, “I can’t believe there are people who think this is a good movie.” Then I remembered that this is a really stupid country. 74 million people voted for Trump in 2020 despite going through a 4-year **** show. Yeah, this is one dumb country. Quentin doesn’t know what he’s talking about here. He’s just rambling. I just put him on the list of directors who are banned from making a movie out of my novel.

Interesting observation about Easy Rider seeming old in the 80s. I'd never thought of that - but it's so true. The 80s fashions - swept away the 60s/70s - it was something entirely new - the shapes and palette were vastly different. It was all very - neat. But starting in the early-mid 90s - that went away - and with grunge especially - fashion reverted back i part to 60s/70s. At this point, one of my favorite baseball movies Bull Durham - I have trouble watching that NOW because those 80s fashions were so specific to that era.

Movie gunman's Walk is incredible it is like, it is like the quiet gun with Forrest Tucker, no name on the bullet with Audie Murphy are the proud ones with Robert Ryan, why are all these movies being discovered now because making a great film or even a good one is almost impossible for Hollywood to do they don't have the patience to make a western the right way they haven't and almost 45 years I don't care about the television Westerns, I don't care about the 12-hour television westerns either films are being rediscovered this movie will touch you like the other three I have mentioned?????? 0:15

I've had friends specifically rent the video in the day, thinking this film is all about what I'm all about. I rarely stayed to watch, to their shagrim, explaining that the first half of Easy Rider was about one of the best I ever saw... the music was AWsome!! But after Jack got clubbed to death, it displayed every bummer of the 60s... got hard to watch - the bad LSD trip, the grease-balls, no long hairs at the motel, trying to keep ahead of tragedy, hippies headin to the country... But I can't think of a movie before it that had a musical score of various artists throughout... a first...
