I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago when using one of these torches in my garage and luckily I was wearing leather gloves when the flames 🔥 erupted and the garage bay door was open, in a quick split second I became Tom Brady throwing a Superbowl game winning "Hail Mary" 50 yard pass 🏈 down my blacktop driveway breathing a sigh of relief, when I retrieved it the hard landing caused the top area of the bottle to be bent making the screw on tip slightly off in one direction but still useable, and I also replaced the defective seal.

While on a ski mountaineering trip, at a hut high on a glacier in the Canadian Rockies one winter, I had the same thing happen to a small camp stove. It was leaking and the entire table burst into flames. I grabbed the small propane tank, walked to the door, and threw it down the glacier several hundred feet. Once the source was gone the fire went out and the hut was saved. If the hut had burned down we might not have survived the night.
