Wow. This was quite an unexpected and quite thrilling treat to see (thank you, Laszlo!). Had no idea the conversation had these interesting little moments that were cut to come back round to the beginning of the film. It's sad when you lose little pieces like that, I'm just happy to be able to see them all here as I always wondered if there was deleted material all this time. I agree, goblins could have been cut if this was how they left the ending. And not that I hate the soundtrack by any means (looped it for most of my life, and still am listening), however that music is pretty intense even for a demo filler in the background, I like it.

Sarkasmus. Sabine wäre 1986 zehn jahre alt gewesen, weil sie 1976 geboren ist. Die Moderatorin kann nicht Sabine sein, die muss 1960-1950 geboren sein um 1986 so auszusehen.

Hey OP if you got alternative cuts I distinctly remember the first time I watched the film decades ago the Door Guards had an extra line after Sarah fell through the trap door. I remember one saying "We both lie" and I have to know if you have that scene. It had to have been a director's cut version of the film I watched in the 90s but it was my uncle's so I never found out.

This honestly makes the Goblin king a much more likable character. I love him in the original, but this version of him feels more mature, respecting Sarah for defeating him and overcoming her weaknesses. He's still sorry to see her go, i think because he's lonely and has grown to admire her, but that feeling of sorrow is overcome by joy when she wins, showing his feelings for her aren't as selfish as they seemed. Yes i like this version of him better.

This comes off as a dream of the reconciliation of her trauma. You confront the manifestation of what you fear and solve it. I did it with my constant nightmares. I had so many nightmares as a child growing up. To the point where they were actually normal for me and rather than wake up or bother mum and dad I would just lie there. A source of a lot of them was who I called 'the lion on the scooter' who originated from a nightmare I had about the lion from the teletubbies sketch that gave a whole generation of toddlers nightmares. Ya girl was one of them. This lion didn't always take the appearance of a lion. He was sometimes not even there but I always sensed him. And it wasn't until I gathered up the courage after about 6 years of this from at least 5 years old, possibly a bit younger. At the age of 11, I confronted the lion and asked him 'why are you doing this?' And he stopped... looked at me, then down and said ' I don't know. I think he took the form of a man in black suit, with a briefcase and black hat. He turned and walked away. And he never haunted my dreams again. I... must've resolved something there. I don't know what. But I feel like this is what Sarah did. Came face to face with the manifestation of her trauma and said, you don't have power. And in this scene Jerald smiling at her and agreeing reminds me of that dream. Where the fear agrees with you and leaves because you had the power all along.
