Using non-commercial software to estimate the fracturing map. #Franc2d simulates the flow and fracture in rock. #LISA software has been evaluated for use on porous media. This software has the ability to investigate permeability. Moreover, storability and #Darcy's constant could be studied. Therefore, the storability, and flow map direction have been conducted. Then, the crack direction (from Franc2D) was satisfied with the #velocity_map.

I dont get it, the chassis can only take 4900N load thats about 490kg. A Cobra weighs about 1300kg in total, that is close to 13 000N. You did not present what the load was and how it was applied. If you make a static load case that is realistic, you should probably apply at least a 5G acceleration in z-direction, times the cars mass. Given that the whole car is not loaded in the middle of the ladder frame, there is still a considerable amount to account for including driver and passenger and most of the engine and drivetrain. That is probably at least 800kg in total. So roughly 8000Nx5G= 40 000N applied load on the ladder frame. This is about 9 times more load than what your ladder frame seem to be able to handle. And just for further information. It is usually the displacement that you dimension for because it changes the cars steering geometry etc. And your ladderframe seem as soft as spaghetti in this case. Also ladder frames are normally created with rectangular tubing not round tubing. Round tubing is used for load cases where the tube is more or less only "push-pull" forces, not bending forces. The ladder frame is mostly bending forces hence why you use the rectangular tubing. All in all, no, that frame is not at all good enough for a race car. But I hope you dont take this too bad, I want to just share some knowledge since I like this topic.

hello sir. I am trying to simulate fracture in materials using molecular dynamics (LAMMPS). I was able to output the nominal mode 1 stress and strain. However, to plot traction-separation curve, I will need the value of separation generated during fracture. can you please share some insight on how to achieve this. Thanks

I did nanoidentation on a photoresist with 3 different layer thicknesses (4.5um, 5.2um and 6.5um) with a penetration depth of 500nn. i'v come to the conclusion that when the thickness of the photo resist is bigger, then the foto resist is harder. Do you have an idea why?? Thank you very much!!!

That material might be meaner plastic more like sailboat fiberglass.

Does the metal crack and break before the fiberglass? There is a similar material that is aluminum with plastic sandwiched in between. On the material it says it can be bent and has a drawing of a punch and die in a brake bending it. It is a lie.
