Is sounds kind of dry. My Tama 40th anniversary bell brass snare doesn't sound like this. Mine has a lot of overtones.

They certainly sound different. I was told by someone extremely knowledgeable about these snares that the major difference between the original and the reissue Tama Bell Brass is that the reissue was not made with a "sand casting" method. This makes a massive difference to the overall sound. Additionally I believe I might have put a SnareWeight M1 leather dampener on the top head before I started playing because I preferred the way it sounded. Although I'm not 100% certain. If I did then that would definitely kill a lot of the overtones. These days I use one in MOST situations. Thanks for the comment!
