All of you mad at dude for pulling a gun don’t know crap about the woods. An animal that fearlessly approaches a human with a dog likely has rabies. And even if it didn’t have rabies it still aggressively approached which is highly unusual for a doe. And a doe can inflict serious damage on a person. I’ve never ever had a doe do that, especially when my dog was with me, even when she had fawns nearby. So you go ahead and think they’re cute and cuddly and Bambi like and see what that gets you the next time one comes charging at you.

We have a doe on our property we call kung fu bambi. Every year she has her babies in our woods and will charge all of our dogs and us. Great mama.

The doe was trying to get you or more specifically your dog to chase her. A wolf or a coyote would chase her if she did that in the same situation. She is trying to lead you away from her nearby fawn hoping to escape the predator and join back with her fawn later.
