One, me, for example, can have neurogenic and vascular claudication at the same time. When the specialists compared notes, both agreed the former more important to address given the latter was diagnosed from a 75% blockage in the left iliac artery.

Can it still be cataplexy if you can fight on your way down? I always assumed blood pressure was making me collapse but I know I'm going down and sometimes fight a violent impact (move my head away from danger).

Mine happened during the night while I was asleep and I woke up with an eye the size of a baseball as a result of autoimmune urticarial vasculitis. There was nothing that could've been done to bring the vision back. I thought after the swelling went down, my eyesight would be back to normal, but there is nothing but 100% blackness, including the peripheral. Easily the most devastating thing that ever happened to me.

So i might have had cataplexy or another issue when i was younger... after i'd do anything strenuous to my arms or legs i always had a chance of losing the ability to hold things/walk for about 10-15 seconds, sometimes constant twitching of my muscles too, every time it's happened i always felt like i was gonna pass out either during or after it happened. I haven't experienced it in a good while, my family has something similar where they'll lose function in one of their legs when walking.

Hello, Dr. Paul Jhun Thanks for sharing this info, I have question How can you tell the difference between primary and permanent teeth when they're in the back of the mouth? Are there specific characteristics to look for?
@TitusMonger
@TitusMonger 6 ай бұрын
Hi! kriss said to differentiate between primary (baby) teeth and permanent (adult) teeth in the back of the mouth, look for these key characteristics: primary teeth are smaller, more rounded, and whiter, with thinner enamel and more spread-out roots. Permanent teeth are larger, more rectangular, slightly yellowish, with thicker enamel and more robust, parallel roots. Additionally, primary teeth typically have more spacing to accommodate the larger permanent teeth that will follow.

This type of cataplexy is very rare. Less than 10% type 1 narcolepsy really collapse like this. Most of cataplexy symptoms are quite minor, just small muscle tone loss, such as dropping things, knees buckled (slowly), slurred speech, jaw dropping etc. Medical schools are teaching this kind of stuff that’s why doctors always fail narcolepsy patients.

I want to share my story so that others do not make mistakes. I suffered from serotonin syndrome after two weeks of taking Prozac, and then the doctor added another medication for me, which I took, and I had a panic attack, severe fear, and confusion, and I felt like I was going to die. I went to the emergency room in the hospital and met with another psychiatrist who had no experience. I told him, unfortunately, he said: I have anxiety that is not from the medicine. He gave me another medicine, so I believed what he said and I went into a coma due to serotonin poisoning. The medicine was withdrawn from my body, but I suffered from severe depression and anxiety after that because of this incident. I continued to suffer for years, and I am now fine, much better than before, and I am still recovering without any medications. An antidepressant. When I went to a psychiatrist, he went because I had a phobia of giving lectures at university only. I am very regretful and wrong for going to a psychiatrist. I lost 3 years of my life because of that.

My 14yr daughter started having episodes of losing muscle tone about 3 months ago. It looks like she passes out. It lasts 30 sec to 1 minute. She may have two or three in a row. She is aware. She can hear, but she cant move. It seems to be getting worse. She used to get recurring strep throat infections from around the ages of 3 to 7. She was diagnosed with tourettes a year ago. She doesnt have a diagnosis for her cataplexy like symptoms yet. Her sleep study is in a few weeks. Her spirits are high, but its hard on her. Any advice would be welcome.
