Can you update on how they’ve held up!

Overall the paint held up very well after a couple of years. The handle has a few chips which I expected and all of the paint on the inside of the bottom track has worn off. But that area isn’t very visible anyway. All of the rest of the paint still held up. We have since moved, but found this to be a very good fix for old doors!

They should work well with any paint, however, it is best to check the instructions on the type of paint you are using to make sure it is safe to use.

Fantastic job. I'm so envious of women who know their way around a Saw, Hammers, drills. Very impressive. My next comment is not to you per se but a general comment from someone who has a no shoes in the home policy. Having all those shoes in the master closet, doesn't it smell? Wouldn't you want this rather in a hall closet in a mud room?

Thank you. It is so true that the more you DIY, the better you get with tools. It's been years of practice! Hmmm...we haven't had any issues with the smell. But, if you go hiking or running, maybe let the shoes air out a bit before placing them in the closet?

Thank you for this. I have a kid's bathroom stool with stenciled letters that were faded and chipped and I was struggling with how to preserve or restore them. I started carved and Dremeling thinking I'd fill the letters with colored epoxy. It's a beast to get clean lines. I have to hunt down some 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch stencils, tracing paper to make a guide on letter placement, them follow your method and redo the letters.

Hi, I watched this tutorial on painting laminate countertops and your tutorial reviewing finishes for white painted furniture. Rather than using the Envirotex sealer I am thinking about using the General Finishes High Performance in as high a gloss as possible to avoid/minimize yellowing. Are there reasons you think this would not be a good sealer for the countertops? Both videos were very informative. Thank you so much!
@LovelyEtc
@LovelyEtc 3 күн бұрын
I am so glad you found it helpful! I would definitely check the directions for the type of paint you are using, but I was very happy overall with the epoxy resin. I do recommend a pour on sealer. I am leary to recommend a different sealer for laminate counters unless I have actually tried it. But, I will say I have used General Finishes for furniture as you mentioned in this article. www.lovelyetc.com/best-topcoats-white-furniture/

Lol, no. Howards has zero idea who I am nor does beyond paint and I don't really do sponsored content. I used Howards because in this case I didn't want to completely refinish the wood and lose the lettering on the front of the radio. restore a finish isn't right for every project, but for this one, it was just what I needed.
