Do you have to use UV resin for jewelry? What is the difference? I have Counter Culture resin that I thought I could use for any project?

This is an awesome idea! I love the idea of a two-sided piece, but I haven't mastered using white ink and it always looks awful from the back side...but yours turned out beautiful! Thanks for sharing...I just might give it another try. 😊

I watched your newer video of the clay geode. The comments were turned off so I thought since ai have nothing but positive feedback for you, I’d leave my two scents worth here , which isn’t a whole lot because the pennies have been discontinued in Canada 🇨🇦. The necklace is such a beautiful idea. I love this. I work with sculpture clay and have just started playing with Mexican red clay. So much fun. Blessings

I have a question do you mix the paint with resin for pouring? I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS YOU ARE UBER TALENTED.
@thefrugalresinista
@thefrugalresinista 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I do! You just need a tiny bit of the paint. Too much and your resin gets gooey. I do about a 1:10 ratio of paint to resin, sometimes even less.

Amazingly beautiful, and would make such a lovely gift for a family member on a special occasion too! I've been interested in trying woodburning as well, and this is great for me to see, as I have so many unstarted hobbies for which I have tons of supplies. Maybe I'll get started now that the weather's turning too. (too hot in my craft room to do much right now) I SO appreciate your work and sharing with us! I even loved the music. My dad loved bagpipe music, and we kids used to make fun of him for it, but now...guess who loves bagpipes? lol

hello what tip are you using with your cordless drill to make the hole in the resin for the screw pin?
@thefrugalresinista
@thefrugalresinista 4 жыл бұрын
I use a tiny drill bit from my Dremel tool. I don't remember the size for these. I based it on the screw pin size that I was using at the time.

What an awesome job you did on this especially considering this was your first time using these tools. Might be easier to get a deeper channel if you used a dremel tool before burning. They are pretty small so storing them would be easy. Thanks for sharing.

do you get drips of the extra resin coat down the sides?
@thefrugalresinista
@thefrugalresinista 4 жыл бұрын
I do if I accidentally push the resin too close to the edge. For these, I put them on a cup to raise them up so that the drips fell off completely. Once they were fully cured, I used my torch to heat the leftover drip remnants and just easily cut them off the bottom with a razor blade.

hello what type of resin should be used for a geode art ? I have a low viscosity resin but everything mixes up I think I didn t choose the resin well thank you :)
@thefrugalresinista
@thefrugalresinista 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you like. I like to use a resin that cures fast so that my colors don't mix together too much. Typically, I do Stonecoat Countertop's quick coat (about 15 min. working time): amzn.to/3hH6uAG or Total Boat fast curing resin (about 5 min. working time), but you have to be REALLY quick to do that kind!: amzn.to/31Hs5n3
