Hi, Shannyn. Thanks for your comment! My level is T10-12 incomplete, and yes, disparate strength. You can find more at www.cpolsley.com. Please consider emailing me through the blog’s Contact form. I’d love to talk with you and to share tips or therapy ideas. Starting with the braces, you might think about walking backward (depending on knee lock mechanisms to avoid hyperextension; strange as it sounds, walking backward uses different muscles) or e-stim (works for some people and not for others, like me; blog.cpolsley.com/2017/02/e-stim-again.html). I’m excited for you as you start with the KAFOs. All the best! Note: this video is with velcro wrist wraps, nothing special, and a rolling therapy walker (Drive brand, Clever Lite).

How do you practice that?? Seems really useful. I would assume I'd need to find someplace to sit so that I'd be suspended in the air...
@shannyncobb7396 Жыл бұрын
Do you have differences in ability between both legs? For some reason, I can move my right side really great, but my left side has been slacking behind. But I was given KFOS for both sides. (T12 incomplete) Super helpful channel!! I'm doing therapy mostly on my own because my insurance sucks. Thank you! :)

Fellow SCI here...can I ask what kind of walkers are those? Injury level? What are those braces on ur wrists? I just started therapy to use my KFOS. Thanks! (Ps looking GREAT!!!)

Incomplete ASIA B, though the injury was originally considered such an obvious complete that I had to argue for the incomplete diagnosis.

These are AFOs used with separate knee braces. They are lighter than KAFOs, but do not provide as much as support. For more on KAFOs, please see my posts at blog.cpolsley.com/2018/12/june-2014-throwback.html and blog.cpolsley.com/2020/07/getting-kafos-long-leg-braces-after.html. I'm happy to answer questions. Thanks!

Which braces do you wear??
@carapolsley90913 жыл бұрын
These are heavy-duty carbon fiber AFOs used with separate knee supports (standard knee braces, like the kind used by many athletes after a knee injury or to provide extra support). More information is available on my blog, www.cpolsley.com, and I'm happy to answer questions. Thank you!
