I bought an expensive pair of Brunton binoculars years ago that were very nice, but a simple eyepiece failed making it useless. I contacted the buyout business in Colorado, but no spare parts were available. Ended up landfilling them.

@@zekeabercrombie1242 such a bummer to have to landfill them! I'll be sharing more in a more in-depth video, but they're working on upgrades now that help limit that kind of stuff! It's so interesting how things that can seem so small can make a huge difference

This is a unique and fascinating video. So awesome! When I graduated with a BS in geology, the geology department awarded me a Brunton compass to signify how well I did at the time. I really appreciated this fine gift, and was afraid to use it much (b/c they had glued award plates onto the compass, to signify the event--I didn't want to lose those things).

Love it. I have had a Brunton (baseplate type) compass since I was a kid, and used their transits in college (geography and geology) plenty. Fantastically good tools. Though, I must admit, that these days not needing a compass professionally, I'd probably grab my old Stanley London G150 prismatic compass over my Brunton if headed off for a hike.
