Go Dubs! I’ve notice most acro coloring up happened on the new growth. Definitely need to just keep parameters stable and give it time. You boosting your pH with anything?

@@todd3024 man I’m happy asf after that win lmao. Definitely time will help. Nothing specific for pH besides a sodium hydroxide 2 part. Was thinking of adding a co2 scrubber but seems like an unnecessary hassle.

@@himmat_dhillon I was in the same place as you early last year. Then I started dosing Kalkwasser and caring about my pH and everything exploded. Went from 7.7 to 8.4 pH. Polyps came out, encrusting accelerated and the new growth showed real colors.

@@JeepinReefer406 icp said mag and calcium slightly low. Mag at 1330 and calcium at 410. Checked the doser and it looks like it was pulling some air bubbles which was messing with the dosing. Potassium and Iodine were also low so just been doing water changes to bring everything up. All acros are already looking slightly better👌🏾

@@himmat_dhillon That Magnesium and Calcium aren't that bad. I'm sure those will be corrected now with the water changes and fixing the doser. Low potassium and Iodine can definitely cause paling across. I'm glad to hear they are on the mend!

If you did chemiclean corals always look pissed after the treatment. Make sure you do water change add beneficial bacteria and watch nitrates and phosphates as it could lead to dinos. Ugly stages in a new reef tank

Only thing I suggest is keep on doing ICP test and dose / adjust your elements until its with in range. I spent over $1000 in ICP tests and dosing. Done like 6-8 tests and have like 10 bottles of elements in a span of 3-4 months to get the dosing spot on. Yes it can cost $ , but then with the modern SPS it requires stable and perfect elemental water. Unlike 10-15 yrs ago with basic SPS and corals that were mainly just single colors of green , red, orange the normal water changes is enough. Tenius are hardest to bring out the colors and require a good balance of the trace / major elements. Encrusting/growing just means KH and Cal is good amounts. That is why your Cal was low because your corals are growing.

@@marcuswong1797 u are completely right. Definitely considering something similar to moon shiners method. I just found that my calcium 2 part is sucking in air bubbles which was messing with the dosing. Would explain why it was dropping quickly. Spending money on tests and elements would definitely be worth it in the future.

Corals look pretty pale so try feeding more (I feed every 2 hours with an auto feeder during the day, so 6x daily with less than half the fish as you).

@@thomasdirocco definitely considering it. Trying to find dry pellets that the fish will eat. Currently only the tangs and the radiant are eating dry and the anthias and other fish are spitting them out.

Nice tank! You're growing macroalgae in your refugium under that redlight? That is probably the reason for your low nutrients... a luxury problem to have! Instead of dosing ammonia you could just simply feed the fish more/buy more fish, or cut the light hours in the refugium (less growth of the macroalgae).

Thank you! Chaeto hasn’t been growing much at all so I don’t believe that is the cause of the low nutrient. I think it’s likely the skimmer. Definitely gonna increase feeding tho!

Great scape! Can't wait to see it established with SPS. Check your nutrients. Tank looks very fresh and not biologically established I don't think most acros will do well yet.

Nice tank Dillon, I watched your video sometimes last year and got myself a bio cube and it is metured and looks beautiful. I guess that I was ahead of you to upgrade my hobby and got myself 150Gal 🤣 before you. It is up and running right now. I have the same live stock I have in it like your's in my 150G. My powder Blue and blue Hippo caught ICK on second day in my tank. Now left with Purple tang. May be I shall start to upload my journey to update you 😇. Keep the updates coming !

That’s awesome! I’m glad I could inspire you to get in the hobby. Definitely start making some videos. They are easy and help you track your progress. I would get a UV for that ick outbreak. They help a lot! Soon enough we are both gonna upgrade again haha!
