Physio is a bogus profession polluted by pseudoscience and lack of quality research. It continues to pump out over-credentialled and under-skilled grads with little understanding of psychology, sociology, or how to engage an intact, whole person. It is pretentious and filled with ego, esp amongst faculty who seem more interested in keeping the privilege of their own jobs, as opposed to being truthful about the profession and its dubious future. Terrible career choice.

When your 72 yr old has a UTI with delirium and delusions. What do you do? My father is 72 and has had 3 UTI since I have lived here. He refuses to go to the hospital and he has that right. EMS workers have said they need his permission yet he's confused, delusional. How do you make sure they get to the hospital?

Four years on from this video and the DPT and social workers seconded to the DPT are still not doing anything to help vulnerable service users and actively put people at risk by hiding behind corporate word salad. They do not take note of the evidence are not represented in safeguarding meetings. They do not adhere to the Care Act, are manipulative and regularly ignore patients needs as 'attention seeking behaviour'. I would advise anyone who has a mental health need to never ever ask the Devon Partnership Trust, in the guise of a CMHT, Home treatment team or hospital psych liaison teams for help. They only make matters worse and in our experience, much worse. As for being a in-patient in a psych unit, managed by the DPT, do not be mistaken into thinking you will be cared for and safe; generally you will be treated with contempt and will not be or feel safe at all. This is my opinion based on first hand experience of a family member who I care for. **There are obviously some very good individuals within the Trust who have their eyes open to patient need but they don't seem to last very long and quickly burn out.

My question is, a doctor has to undergo 5 years of medical school and then a further 5- 9 years in order to become a GP, but a PA just needs to do a 2 year degree and then is qualified enough to see patients in the way a GP can? Please can someone explain if I have it wrong?
@ambseyyy
@ambseyyy 7 ай бұрын
it's true, but the PA does already have an undergrad 3 year background in biology/medicine before doing the postgrad 2 years. I believe the PA can't do somethings like prescribe medicines however. A PA isn't intended to replace a GP either, but does some of the same day to day things as one

It’s been such a privilege as an autistic trainer to be involved in this training since the pilot way back in 2020, and I am an approved trainer as an expert by experience in both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 of this Mandatory Training. I cannot recommend this training highly enough!
