TO CHARACTERIZE THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD AS A "MONSTER" SIMPLY DEMONSTRATES A LACK OF KNOWLEGE OF THE SCRIPTURES. JOHN CALVIN KNEW THE SCRIPTURES FAR BETTER THAN MOST PASTORS AND GREAT PREACHERS OF OUR DAY. HE UNDERSTOOD THE DOCTRINE OF PREDESTINATION WHICH IS CONTRATRY TO THE POPULAR VIEW OF OUR AGE THAT MEN HAVE FREE WILL FOR SALVATION. IN OTHER WORDS MEN HAVE THE POWER TO CHOOSE WHETHER THEY WANT SALVATION OR NOT. ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE THIS TEACHING CONTRADICTS THE WORD OF GOD. SEE ROMANS 8:29-30. ROMANS 9:16 SALVATION BY MEN'S FREE WILL IS CONTRARY TO SCRIPTURE. SEE JOHN 1:13 ROMANS 3:10-11 JOHN 15-16. RELATIVE TO THE EVIL THAT EXISTS IN ALL MEN, SCRIPTURE MAKES IT CLEAR THAT ALL OF IT IS GOD'S DOING TO ACCOMPLISH HIS OWN PURPOSE. SINCE SCRIPTURE TELLS US GODS THOUGHTS ARE HIGHER THAN OUR THOUGHTS AND HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OUR WAYS, MANKIND SIMPLY HAS NO ABILITY TO COMPREHEND MANY THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PURPOSED TO DO. ALL WE CAN KNOW ABOUT GOD IS WHAT HE HAS REVEALED TO US ABOUT HIMSELF IN THE SCRIPTURES. HE SURELY DOES THIS IN SCRIPTURE AND EVEN SPEAKS IN THE FIRST PERSON. GOD TELLS US PRECISELY WHO HE IS IN ISAIAH 45-5-7. "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." WHAT AN AWESOME STATEMENT OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD TELLING US PRECISELY WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE IS DOING. JOHN CALVIN UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED GOD AS ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGN OVER HIS ENTIRE CREATION. IT PLEASED GOD TO SELECT A REMNANT OF MANKIND TO BE PART OF HIS ELECT FAMILY AND SEND ALL THE REST TO SPEND ETERNITY IN HELL. WE NEED ONLY LOOK TO THE NARRATIVE ABOUT NOAH AND HIS FAMILY. GOD SPARED EIGHT SOULS AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF THE EARTH BY WATER. JESUS MADE IT CLEAR THAT FEW WILL FIND THE NARROW WAY WHICH LEADS TO SALVATION.

You both are totally right that we’re not dead in sin and that we’re not all born sinners. Only Christians believe in that. I happened to be a Christian. Very evil and wretched. Thank God for not waiting for me to seek him and accept him or else he’d wait eternity.

The accuracy of the teachings of the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) depends on the lens through which one evaluates them. Below is an analysis of their teachings from theological, historical, and doctrinal perspectives to assess their credibility and alignment with mainstream Christian thought. 1. Theological Accuracy WMSCOG’s teachings diverge significantly from orthodox Christian theology, which raises questions about their interpretive accuracy: • God the Mother: • WMSCOG teaches that there is a “God the Mother,” citing verses such as Galatians 4:26 (“the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother”) and interpretations of Genesis 1:26-27 (“Let us make mankind in our image”). • Mainstream Christianity interprets these passages metaphorically, not as literal support for a female deity. No traditional Christian doctrine has recognized a “God the Mother.” • Ahn Sahng-hong as the Second Coming of Christ: • The church claims Ahn Sahng-hong fulfilled prophecies of Jesus’s return. However, traditional Christian theology teaches that the Second Coming will involve a visible, universal event (Matthew 24:27-31) rather than the arrival of an individual in a single location. • Critics argue there is no biblical evidence to support Ahn Sahng-hong’s role as Jesus’s return. • Observance of Old Testament Laws: • WMSCOG places heavy emphasis on Old Testament festivals (e.g., Passover) but reinterprets them under the “New Covenant.” • While some Christians, particularly in Messianic traditions, observe similar practices, most mainstream Christian denominations teach that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Law (Matthew 5:17) and that salvation comes through faith, not adherence to ceremonial laws. 2. Historical Accuracy • Ahn Sahng-hong’s Background: • He was initially a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a denomination known for its end-times emphasis. Critics argue his teachings were heavily influenced by Adventist theology rather than a unique revelation. • His own writings reportedly contradict some WMSCOG doctrines, including their emphasis on God the Mother. • Dating and Prophecy: • WMSCOG has faced criticism for making unfulfilled prophetic claims. For example, Ahn Sahng-hong reportedly suggested that the world would end in 1988, a prediction that failed to materialize. 3. Interpretive Methods • WMSCOG’s biblical interpretations rely heavily on proof texting-isolating specific verses to support doctrines without considering their broader context. • Many scholars and theologians criticize this approach, arguing it leads to misinterpretations and doctrinal errors. 4. Scholarly and Mainstream Christian Views • The overwhelming consensus among mainstream Christian scholars and denominations is that WMSCOG’s teachings are not biblically accurate. They view its doctrines as distortions of Christian theology. • The Korean Christian community, where the WMSCOG originated, widely criticizes the church and does not recognize it as a legitimate Christian denomination. 5. Points of Controversy • Unorthodox Doctrines: Beliefs like God the Mother and Ahn Sahng-hong as the Second Coming have no precedent in historical Christianity. • Exclusive Salvation: WMSCOG claims it is the only true church, a stance often associated with high-control groups. • Questionable Authority: The authority of its leaders and their scriptural interpretations are not supported by broader Christian tradition. Summary: From a traditional Christian perspective, the teachings of the WMSCOG are not accurate because they deviate from core doctrines and widely accepted biblical interpretations. Their reliance on isolated scriptural references and reinterpretation of Christian eschatology are significant points of contention. Whether their teachings hold spiritual value is ultimately a matter of personal belief, but they are not aligned with mainstream Christianity or scholarly consensus.

I have an intricate and deeply personal story involving the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG). My journey began when I married a woman who was heavily involved in this church, though I had no understanding of it at the time. We had dated for five years before marrying, but she never disclosed the specific details about her faith. All I knew was that she attended church on Saturdays. We lived in Hawaii at the time, and while she and her daughters went to church, I would take my children to the beach. I didn’t think much of it. After her divorce was finalized, she approached me with an ultimatum: marry her, or she would move to Las Vegas with her parents. She was stunning-a model, half Filipina and half Black, and way out of my league-so I agreed. I loved her and couldn’t imagine letting her go. Shortly after our marriage, she invited me to attend her church. Wanting to be a supportive partner, I obliged. At first, the service didn’t seem much different from others I’d attended. But then they began praying in Korean. Having worked as a Korean linguist in Military Intelligence during my time in the Army, I understood what was being said, which initially caught me off guard. I had attended Korean churches before during my time in Korea, but something about this experience felt different. After the service, they invited me to participate in a “study.” I agreed out of politeness, but I was skeptical and admittedly a bit of a smart aleck during the session. My wife soon began urging me to get baptized. Not wanting to argue-and admittedly with some ulterior motives-I agreed. The baptism was conducted in a separate room, and everything seemed standard until the officiant uttered the words, “in the name of Ahn Sahng-hong.” That moment shook me to my core. I kept my reaction to myself but immediately started researching what I had just participated in. Over the next 96 hours, I dove deep into understanding the WMSCOG. I was overwhelmed with emotions-confusion, frustration, anger, and disbelief. What I uncovered about the church’s doctrines and practices left me deeply unsettled. For the next 12 years, my wife continued to press me to attend church regularly. While I only went a handful of times to appease her, I grew increasingly resistant to the church’s teachings and practices. The breaking point came when she asked me yet again to attend, and I finally said, “I will never, ever, ever go to that damn cult you call a church.” That moment marked the beginning of the end of our marriage. Over time, she orchestrated her exit from our relationship. Living in Texas at the time, I worked in Fort Worth during the week while she stayed in San Antonio with our family. Unbeknownst to me, she secured a job in California, arranged housing, and began moving belongings into a storage unit. One weekend, I returned home to find her and her daughters-along with their cat and dog-gone. They were on their way to California. She left me with our two dogs and the realization that our marriage was over. She has since remarried, reportedly to a Korean man. Looking back, those years were a whirlwind of emotional and spiritual struggle. My military background-26 years of service, including time as a counterintelligence special agent-trained me to analyze and question, but the challenges posed by her involvement with the WMSCOG tested me in ways I never anticipated. I’ve since moved to Washington State, where I grew up, and now work for the Department of Defense. Though life has stabilized, the memories remain vivid. If there’s interest, I have countless stories to share about my experiences with the WMSCOG, my marriage, and the impact it all had on my life. I also want to express my gratitude for the incredible work you’re doing. Your efforts to shed light on organizations like the WMSCOG have been invaluable to people like me who were searching for understanding and support during difficult times. You may not always see the impact of your work, but trust me-you are reaching people in profound ways. I dare say, you’re doing God’s work. Keep it up.

someone from this group invited me to a bible study a few weeks ago. I attended 3 bible studies and I actually enjoyed it but something didn't feel right (holy spirit was nudging me) I started asking questions and the lady who invited me admitted that they were indeed with Shincheonji but I was told not to believe the things I hear about them. I asked God to tell me the truth in a dream. I hear from God in my dreams a lot. Sure enough I was told not to be involved, and I stopped attending. This was so sad for me because I really wanted to be involved with a bible study, but I'm grateful to God for his nudging and confirmation early on instead of finding out years later.

I’ve been enjoying Alana’s channel for years about hone-making and other gems. I was on the path of being indoctrinated with Calvinism from MacArthur, Susan Heck and Elizabeth Elliott. I had the conviction that I am a whosoever and that the atonement is for all. I was attending a small Baptist church that was more stealth Calvinism but the new pastor was getting bold and preached from the pulpit that Jesus was a Calvinist!!! My senses were duly alarmed so I found myself on a mission to understand what this Calvinism was all about…..providentially Alana just posted her coming out of Calvinism video so I watched it with my jaw dropping to the floor 😁 I can’t thank the Lord enough for leading Alana to share her story !! From there I fuelled myself with Leighton Flowers and Kevin Thompson who have helped me to understand not only the theology but the psychological tripwires everywhere. Thank you for this interview and your ministry about this.

@JewelzTalks Lol... Studying "proof text" isn't studying the Bible. Question: *what would you say about the belief system of someone who claims to believe something first, and then goes to verify what they claim to believe second? Only to come to the realization that they never believed it?* Think about it. We've heard this story before... *"Professing Christian leaves the faith after reading the Bible".* You and I would say that such a person was never a Christian to start with because their faith was never grounded in the Word of God. They were culturally Christian at best, acquiescing to the culture around them. *There's a few sirens in her story that paint a bigger picture than the one she's telling.* 1. The point I made above. Her husband was reformed. In my experience, women more often than not, assume the identity of their husbands. This would be even more the case if she grew up around reformed theology. But notice that she had to go to the Bible to verify "her beliefs". That's backwards. *This should also cause concern for whether she approaches her faith in Christ the same way.* 2. She was struggling with how she would tell her kids. That statement alone should be a red flag regardless of which side of the debate you're on. Again, think about it... If someone left the faith and then gave a testimony that prior to leaving the faith, they were emoting over how they would tell their kids about Jesus. You would immediately know, at the bare minimum, that the good news was never good in their eyes. *Therefore, it would make sense that this person would eventually leave the faith.* In other words, it was an emotional decision. Like certain individuals who claim that their "intellectual" endeavors led them to disbelief in the Bible, when in actuality they disliked the truths in the Bible. I almost guarantee you she was relieved to "believe" different. 3. She never mentioned that she was convinced by finding Arminian doctrine in the Bible. Her entire testimony was that she wasn't convinced of reformed doctrine when she actually studied the Bible (even though she claimed to be reformed before she actually studied it... 🤔). *Again, that's not the testimony of someone convinced to believe different, but someone justifying the rejection of what they've superficially believed but disliked.* IMHO, this woman was never reformed.

@@JewelzTalks I think you're missing my point. She's not studying the Bible, she's studying the proof text. Context matters. There are a lot of reform doctrines that are contextual. Meaning, there's not a direct quote in the Bible, but we can infer things by combining several texts throughout the Bible. Sorta like how we infer the doctrine of the Trinity. But this is a moot point really. The real point is that she was never reformed because she never came to that understanding on her own.

When you reject the Biblical account for these things (reformed theology/Calvinism), then all you're doing is trading in one set of mysteries for another set. For example, was the Fall God's plan? If so, then God has willed for some to be sentenced to the H word. Why? Because this world is so bad, that it's an impossibility that all would be saved. And God knew this and still allowed the world to get this way. If the fall wasn't His plan, but He knows all things, then He is allowing some to be born even though He knows it would be better if they weren't... *(Matthew 26:24)* *...wow unto the man who betrays the Son of man. It would've been better for that man if he had not been born.”* That doesn't sound very loving if you measure love by human definitions right. And I believe this is where the Arminian gets it wrong.

If one cannot explain God to THEIR theology - they MUST make scripture up to fit their theology. THIS is what these people here do. The fact that they cannot reconcile God’s total sovereignty to man’s responsibility, they have to “rescue” God to keep Him in THEIR box ! The comments here ALSO prove this. People talking about how they “worried” for sooo many years !?!? Worried about WHAT ? They couldn’t fit God into their box! Believing God is TRUELY Sovereign is one of the most freeing, GOD Glorifying aspect of the Christian faith. Lastly, be assured, just like our salvation is ALL of God, so is belief in this doctrine. One’s eyes MUST be opened to it by our Father! But since these people believe faith is in THEIR court - they cannot believe THIS either.
