Thank you for posting! I have been approached, and like many others, my first Bible study was solely about the Bible. Now, the second, I realized a lot of the Bible was highlighted in certain areas. Today, they finally spoken about everything. It is actually still hard for me to not fully accept what is what. It is insane how easy it is to completely be engulfed by a cult. I would not in a million years think I would fall, and I completely did in under 3 sessions. It is insane. I knew the moment that by the second hour of reading only highlighted sections, I knew it was something wrong, but when we picked up our head from the Bible and started to look at "history", it was wrong. Lastly, the fact we didn’t pray before, or after, we read the Bible was weird. Yet, with all of this, my head is still reeling on all of this. Don’t feel like you’re dumb for falling for this, or that I can’t believe that happened, because it is crazy out here.

I watched a couple of John MacArthur sermons. I immediately took a dislike for the man. He came across as an arrogant and mean know it all. He was strawmanning a position he disagreed with, a position I actually knew something about. He wasn't addressing the actual position, and then he used ad hominem attacks against those who held that position. I absolutely could be wrong about the man, and I sincerely hope that I am.
