Google can tell if a link is worth ignoring. If it's just 10 sites, I would ignore it.

I've read about no-follow links experiment some guy did already few years ago. He only used no-follow - and it worked.

Maybe it wasn't the link. Maybe google tracked the referral traffic from the nofollow link, and that provided some favorable info that then caused a ranking improvement.
