Back in the autumn of 86, I heard the song for the first time when I was dealing with the first break up of life... Now I've 6 grandkids, and dealing with endlife crisis.... Sometimes, I still remember her and I hope she is doing well, whereever and whoever she is with... 😊

We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't love anymore What was all of it for? Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do I just heard you found the one you've been looking You've been looking for I wish I would have known that wasn't me 'Cause even after all this time, I still wonder Why I can't move on Just the way you did so easily Don't wanna know Kind of dress you're wearing tonight If he's holding onto you so tight The way I did before I overdosed Should've known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't love anymore What was all of it for? Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do I just hope you're lying next to somebody Who knows how to love you like me There must be a good reason that you're gone Every now and then I think you might want me to Come show up at your door But I'm just too afraid that I'll be wrong Don't wanna know If you're looking into her eyes If she's holding onto you so tight The way I did before I overdosed Should've known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't love anymore What was all of it for? Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do Like we used to do Don't wanna know Kind of dress you're wearing tonight If he's giving it to you just right The way I did before I overdosed Should've known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't love anymore What was all of it for? Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't talk anymore (don't wanna know) Kind of dress you're wearing tonight (oh) If he's holding onto you so tight (oh) The way I did before We don't talk anymore (I overdosed) Should've known your love was a game (oh) Now I can't get you out of my brain (whoa) Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore

Charlie Puth was bitchin' back then, man. I'll never forget how cool I thought I was when I blasted this track rolling up in my brand new Trans Am and how dumb I looked when I crashed it in a ditch while it was still blasting after junior prom, haha. Good times, man.

Love the keys. But the base and drums need some funk. It would have been better as earth wind and fire or prince type vibe.

It was 87’ on my 19. birthday. There was a big party at my house. Everyone came except him.. Everyone was having fun but me. My eyes were searching out for him. I was so sad that night. Tried to have fun with them but couldn’t enjoy it. I took a drive, just to clear my mind out. A friend called me to ask me where I was. I couldn’t speak, my eyes were filled with tears, my chest was heavy. I threw away my phone and drove really fast. Couldn’t properly see from the tears. This song came up on the radio. I screamed in my car and cried so hard. I crashed into a tree.. There was another car on the road behind me, just us two. He braked so hard and jumped out of his Mercedes cabriolet, rushed to me and helped me get out of my car. It was him. He drove me to the hospital, gave me a kiss and left me forever..

I remember reading that this song was an absolute media sensation when it came out in 1987. Charlie was only something like 21 when Geffen Records put this song out, and he had just signed with them about two months prior. Selena Gomez had already toured with Madonna the previous year, and was already starting to gain a following. The label therefore decided to bring the two of them into the studio for a jam session, which resulted in this song. Charlie and Selena would embark on a joint world tour all through 1988. That was basically what catapulted Charlie into mainstream success, and the “Eight Track Mind” LP became his biggest selling album to this very day. Charlie even received numerous nominations, including Album of the Year for “Eight Track Mind”, Song of the Year for “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, Best New Artist, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group. However, he was unable to take home an award for any of them, but Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, Bono and even Prince praised Charlie for his songwriting ability. Charlie would go on to release several more records, winning the Grammy for Song of the Year in 1991 for his song “Attention” and again in 1994 for his song “Light Switch”. Charlie and Selena remained close friends up until his untimely passing in a plane crash on February 23, 2001, at the age of 35. His posthumous album “Charlie” released in August of that year, rocketed to No. 1 within the first week of its release. To this day, Charlie is remembered as a musical genius, as he was known to record random sounds into the studio microphone and make melodies out of them. “What if there was a song that started off like…” RIP Charlie Puth (1966-2001)
