Yes. As long as we remember where our strength comes from. Our will power is God given. It often takes us the wrong way. If I hope for my resolve to save me I'm doomed. There is only one source for my Salvation. Let me resolve today to seek His will for me and grant me the courage and power to fulfill it.

Xians just can't deal with the truth: my disbelief in their god is identical to their disbelief in other gods. They act like atheism is _sooooo_ strange an outlook to them but they know exactly what it's like. Is it irrational to believe in the god/goat hybrid, Pan? No? How about the god/elephant hybrid, Ganesha? No? Then why is it so strange to disbelieve in the god/ape hybrid, Jesus? Xians who rail against atheism need to look in the mirror.

It would make me look stupid to claim that my car is blue if I also claim to call all cars blue. I would look equally stupid if I said my dog is a poodle but then said I call all breeds poodles. Xians say "God is good" but then admit that whatever God does they call good. How does that make them look?

+Faith Chapel There is nothing in the scriptures that directly refers to what we know of as homosexuality.

Please go back and listen to the sermon and you will find that the Bible has a lot to say condemning the sin of homosexuality. All sin is breaking God's law. It is disobedience just like adultery, fornication, rape, etc. You are making an arbitrary statement that is completely untrue. The Bible strongly condemns this sinful behavior.

+Tommy Capps I have listened to it, and I know for a fact that there is nothing in the scriptures that states that any and all same gender sex for any reason is a sin. Even if it did, it would be due to a cultural thing, not because God has an issue with it. You should also know that the bible has nothing to "say", and it's incapable of condemning anything, because it is an inanimate object. People like you, have been treating bible like some idol to worship, and have been using it in manors it was never intended to be used for. What do you believe is the primary if not the sole purpose of the bible? What do you beleive was the grievous sin that got "Sodom" distroyed?

+Ifihada Hammer the Bible is the sole authority for those who are followers of Jesus Christ. Romans 4:3 "For what saith the scriptures?" 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for report, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." As for what the Bible says about homosexuality all that I can do is rerefer you back to what I said on the subject in the sermon. Here are some of the verses I refered to; Lev.18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womenkind: it is abomination. " Lev 20:13, Rom.1:25-28, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, and others. As for the sin of Sodom it is plainly laid out in the context of Gen.19. It has nothing to do with the lack of hospitality. Lot was extremely hospitable. Ezekiel 16:48-49 reveals other sins but Genesis19 identified the major sin. You may want to disagree what the Bible teaches about the sin of homosexuality but at least let the text speak for itself.

+Tommy Capps Actually, the bible was never intended to be anything more than one of many tools to help individuals get closer to God. You should also try not using parts of a book to try justifying that very book's authority, it does not help you. If all could do that, then any book can have the same authority. Again, unless you have a talking bible, it has never said anything. When people like you make the statement that the bible said something, it makes you come across as rediclous. The same is true when people claim that the bible is the literal word of God. By doing so, you are misusing the scriptures, and trying to make them something they were never intended to be. And, treating your bible as a form of an idol. (Lev.18:22) Is obviously refering to one aspect of idolatrous Pagan rituals. The writer (attributed to be Moses) was not refering to what we know of as homosexuality. (Rom.1:25-28) Is obviously refering to one aspect of idolatrous Pagan rituals, specifically, fertility rituals. The writer (attributed to be Saul/Paul) was again not refering to what we know of as homosexuality. (1 Cor. 6:9-10) Not one Greek word in those verses was ever used in refrance to what we know of as homosexuality, the fact that some have taken liberties in mistranslating two of the Greek words attributed to Saul/Paul, is proof of how far some are willing to go in their anti-homosexuality agenda. (Gen.19) Lot was overly hospitable, if he had been less so, the city may have been spared. The angels wanted to stay in the city square, but Lot insisted they stay at his place. Lot took two men that we're compleate strangers into a city of people well known to treat strangers sadisticly. He took them into his fairly new residence just before dark, completely unannounced, during a time that city was recovering from a war. Naturally, word spread of this, and all of the men young and old surround Lot's home, and threatened to torture and humiliate the strangers. The men of "Sodom" refused Lot's daughters, because their issue was with the strangers. Also, two of Lot's daughters were eithor married or engaged to be marryed to two of the "Sodomite" men. I could provide you with more details, and more proof of how you have been taught a lie if you like. The worst part, is that the true message and lesson of the story of "Sodom and Gomorrah was misused, and the real message has always been to at the very least, don't treat strangers sadisticly. Do you know why it is that not one Jew/Israelite/Hebrew in almost 4000 years has taught that any of the sins of "Sodom" were due to homosexuality? Can you tell me why not one living Bible Scoller believes that the sin of "Sodom" was homosexuality? (Ezekiel 16:48-49) "As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did what you and your daughters have done. Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Can you tell me what part in there states that what we know of as homosexuality had anything to do with why God distroyed them? Try being more of a follower of Jesus then eisegesis.

+Ifihada Hammer it is obvious that you are not willing to accept the teaching of the Word of God. I am sorry to hear that. That is itself a witness of your rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:21-27 warns people like yourself of expecting an entrance into heaven only to be rejected. The foolish man builds his life on other things than the Word of God. Your rejection of the Bible is not out of a willingness to please the Lord but out of a willingness to justify your sin or the sins of someone you love more than Christ. Repent and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior before it is eternally to late.
