And I don't know how many people know this but this is a fact something you will not hear on the news 20% more Native American women disappear every year than whites blacks Asians and Latinos and most of Native American people live in poverty and still on reservations and the last time I checked regular police officers are not allowed on[ reservations] they have their own police force the only ones that are allowed to go there is the (FBI) in my opinion they should >get< rid /of the (FBI)

All our Native American no I'm Indians were strong and beautiful people. They have hearts of gold and love in all of them. The ones that did all that horrible stuff to them The Bad ones are forgetting they were here first. What happened to them is really sad and horrible. My ancestors were with them were Cherokee and proud it. Our Beautiful and Great Indians were protecting their families and what they had. The Bad ones wouldn't like it all happened to them. It just shows they don't a heart. They said the country that did it was New England. They lied it was France where the good ole immigrants are coming from. My Best friend more like my second was from New England. My friend Carol and her friends and family are from England they were filled with love I miss her.

I've visited one of the prisons where they held Geronimo captive and had my own moment of silence. There is a short documentary of his present-day great great granddaughter having her coming of age ceremony and talking about their traditions. Its a beautiful thing, I recommend it.

They were real aboriginal American Indians, not fake natives like these fake inds are today that pay a fee to be a indian. But real indigenous Indian men. Like all black Americans, which black American is a white government term given to the real Aboriginal American Indians, of America, the real indigenous people.

There are many great Native American Chiefs and leaders who did not participate in war actions. This film seems to honor only those who lead violent factions from the war-like tribes. It would be nice to see some leaders highlighted from the more peaceful nations such as the Cherokee and Choctaw, for example.

The title here says "Native American Indian Chiefs and leaders." There are many objections to the term "Indians" ostensibly because they objected to Christopher Columbus mistaking Natives for people from India. And yet the term "Americans" comes from honoring an associate of Columbus' - Amerigo Vespucci. He was an explorer who owned household slaves and in fact bequeathed those to his wife after his death. Perhaps the Indigenous Peoples should use their original Native name when referring to themselves (whatever that is).

People forget due to glamorization from Holywood and novels, but being an actual cowboy was hard, dangerous work with low pay. It drew some of the toughest and most desperate young men to it, and that included a lot of black men. Especially if they were a former slave with animal experience and a desire to flee the South's institutionalized racism.

I am proud to carry Cherokee blood. I have always respected the good ( old ) ways of all Native American people we all are joined by the ancestors. I am appalled at the inconceivable disrespect and horrifying treatment of the indigenous peoples of this land. Watching this renews my anger and deep sorrow that these great leaders suffered the humiliation of greedy, ignorant liars at the end of their lives. For thousands of years our people lived in this land and respected the land, by always leaving as they found it, unspoiled. In the couple of hundred years of white ways, it is polluted and dying. Does that not tell them they were wrong to despise the natural ways? Even today Native Americans are shunned and portrayed as savages! I ask you, who are the real savages?

I feel ashamed the way I yelled and cheered when the movie showed the US soldiers came out from their fort to chase and kill the native indians. In the 1960's Hollywood war pictures between Native Indians and US army washed our brains!

I love reading about the Native Americans. Such proud people. I read about Chief Joseph several years ago. Such a sad story. I read that when he surrendered he said "I will fight no more forever". What we did to all Native Americans is unforgivable.
