Totally agree with you on the Speedy, Caleb. The original take was so much better in so many ways. This updated version just looks like your regular Speedy only with different color canvas / monogram. For the prices they’re asking, that’s just a slap in the face. I think they’re counting on the popularity of the original designs helping them close the gap on their sales, but I feel very strongly that people are going to have a lot less disposable income in the coming year. I’ll be most curious to see how this plays out for them. I don’t think they’re going to get the sales they’re anticipating at those price points. I’m not excited about the new designs myself … much prefer the classics! ❤

Honestly wondering if the leak is not coming from LV itself to create the hype and justify the crazy price. 😂 The original collection were my dream bags when I was a teenager. I purchased a Murakami speedy 20 in white in 2022 under 1000$ on excellent condition and I am so in love with it. I agree that the speedy from the new collection is not as beautiful. I hope that the price of the used 2000 collection won't be impacted by the new collection because I would still buy the 2000 collection over the 2025.

I love the black with the silver hardware, but am not seeing a piece that really excites me yet. I just purchased the Speedy 20 in the silver mirror canvas and love it! If what you say about pre-orders is true, that is a serious issue off putting issue for me. I was hoping for a black multi color Neverfull, doesn't look like that will be available.

I like the silver we needed something to go with our other accessories. The men’s line is a little too masculine. I am very disappointed that the Trouville and Speedy don’t come in black monogram. The 2 locks is silly to me. I like the bow and just the metal tab or they could have put a flower instead of a lock. I also would have liked to see more metal buttons on the straps and yes the Speedy is missing something but this is the strategy to make us buy more.

I was just in the new NYC store. It was packed to the rafters. If that is any indication, LV appears to be doing just fine. 😂

I was in my 20s when the original collection dropped it was so mind blowing and innovative with Marc Jacobs at the helm, this feels so vanilla and overpriced. Meh. Maybe used in time, $2200 for a pouchette new? NOPE If I want nostalgia I’ll wear some Gucci Rush perfume 🤷‍♀️

OMG I have to agree about the Trouville! I just picked up my vintage one in white, and if this comes in black I will need it!! Unpopular opinion; I really like the black Speedy, but its price is obscene.

Don’t come for me!!! I’m not a fan of the original collection. I wasn’t into bags in the early 2000s and now, to me, it looks very dated and of its time with all that heavy hardware. I much prefer the new black version of the speedy with the silver pared down hardware (safe space!!!😂). It’s sleeker and more modern. I prefer silver hardware, especially and often like more masculine looking bags. I won’t be buying as for me LV is the classic brown monogram print. I don’t like all the variations. Plus as you say, if I want to blow that much on a bag, there’s better ways to spend my cash. Totally agree with the hatred of none functional things on bags. My other bugbear is stupidly thin shoulder/cross body straps in proportion to the bag - another reason to head to the men’s section.
