This song is powerful..especially for 🇱🇧 Simple Minds..the words resonate with the war and struggles of the land through 70s-80s..now 40yrs later this haunting song and flute/drums revived by today's current war and struggles in 🇱🇧..their humming Beirut Child like they did in 80s..

It's soooooo frustrating, Perkins, Eric and Dave sounded SO epic, goddamn... they're all beasts but Dave Navarro fucking brought it, plus, he just looks so fucking Rockstar cool. Hearing the three of those guys trying so hard to pull Perry back up when he obviously gives zero fucks just kills me. He sounds like shit, he's never on time, he's skipping all over the place on the words he does remember. Fuck, even the crowd is trying to get Perry in the game. It kills me, his jealousy and ego burned Jane's Addiction to the ground. I almost wish he had quit the band before the first show and the rest of the guys just did the tour without him. It would have been so cool if they just did a sing-along or just pulled random people out of the audience to sing a song or two. Goddamn, I still can't believe how fucking good Dave Navarro sounded. How good all three of them sounded. It didn't have to end the way it did, what a fucking waste.

Very rare to see Nick make a mistake lyrically and charming to see how to responded to it. Feel blessed to have seen this tour in Leeds just over a week ago and saw them on the Skeleton Tree tour at Manchester Arena in 2017. Utterly stunning on both occasions.

If you're not a musician, it might not be obvious to you, but those bass lines that Nick is playing are amazingly inventive and absolutely expertly played. What's even more amazing is that he wrote and recorded them when he was just 21 years old. The musicianship during the New Romantic era is one of the most overlooked in pop's long history. Some of those folks were at the very top of the game and Nick Beggs was one of them.

Rusty is a treasure and he is so right about this stupid length limitations on Spotify etc. I have so many discussions about it, because sadly, most musicians adhere to it without questioning the artistic aspect of intros, solo parts etc. Rusty is so spot on!
