Hey Jamil! Does the Malaysian Wildlife Department have a rehabilitation-center for macaques where they are rehabilitated for release back into the wild? If so, I hope that the care you're providing is helpful to her recovery and release back to where she belongs.

Just looked up sporo on Wikipedia. [It's a fungal skin infection and can spread from infected cats to humans.] Be careful when handling that cat, Jamil! And I hope you're able to cure that cat and nurse it back to health.

A monkey has got to be by far the most entertaining pet one could have.

Is there a reason why you brought the long tail with you instead of leaving her in the big cage in the enclosure? I'm surprised that the long tail let you put clothes on it. Seems a bit odd to do.

Shakina is being a typical monkey, asserting dominance by trying to take food out of another monkey's mouth. (At least, I _think_ that's what that behavior means.)

Absolutely _not!_ It is illegal in Malaysia to keep long tailed macaques. And this is a long tailed macaque. So Jamil has already contacted the Malaysian Wildlife Department, and [as Jamil has stated in comments on other videos] has asked someone from national headquarters to come and get her. Seems that the nearest regional Malaysian Wildlife Department office doesn't have facilities as large as what Jamil can offer, according to Jamil. Also remember: Jamil has several dozen cats that he's rescued and cares for. Between that, the dogs he's rescued, and the 3 macaques he already has, he has more than enough work to do taking care of the animals he already cares for! Adding another monkey just increases that workload.

Never. She's a long-tailed macaque, which are _illegal to possess_ in Malaysia. Jamil's already contacted the Malaysian Wildlife Department and asked them to come and pick her up. Also remember: Jamil has several dozen cats that he's rescued and cares for. Between that, the dogs he's rescued, and the 3 macaques he already has, he has more than enough work to do taking care of the animals he already cares for! Why is everyone so eager to give him _even more work_ to do by adding another monkey to care for? Haven't you seen how much effort 3 macaques is?

That would be a fear-grimace. Remember: Humans _are the _*_only_*_ primate_ that shows its teeth when happy. All other primates … and all other mammals, really … only show their teeth when angry or scared. In fact, humans are the only primate that "smiles" … in any other primate, what looks like a "smile" to us humans means something very, _very different._ In all other primates except chimps, it's actually a sign of fear and/or aggression. In chimps, the situation is a bit more complex. As I said above, if they're showing their teeth, then it's a fear-grimace, even in chimps. If it's what looks like our version of an open-mouthed grin, with no teeh visible, that's a chimp making what's called a "play face", which means either, "Let's Play! Let's Play! I wanna play!" or means, "YAY! We're Playing!"

Yes, Adik is a rescue, dumped at the home of someone Jamil knows. Jamil has already contacted the Malaysian Wildlife Department to hand this long tail macaque over [as it is illegal to keep long tails].
