Great, the way you included all those harmonic voicings in…in the beginning there… love the way you did that.

Even though this video has been posted four years ago, I watch it over and over without getting tired of it, I love Jethro Tull's music more than I would be able to express, and I love to see you playing it, thank you for replicating such wonderful music and lyrics! Greetings from San Miguel de Allende, México! ❤

Absolutely fantastic ! Way better than the original ! I'm floored. PS.: Dont you folks pretend that you know anything about the meaning or intentions within the lyrics. Sometimes you think they are meaningful, but they are meaningless. Other times you may think they are meaningless, but they are meaningful... Cheers, Conny

That cries for a mandolin ! I can hear the high-pitched notes deep inside. Without them something is missing. Any "Empty Tuning" (means no 3rd) would do, as long as it renders an F, not only D 4 tuning capo 3rd fret. Then go 12th position for the "fake mandolin". Typical blues stuff, all that.

Goosebumps all over ! Dunno where to start. Back then, I was only waiting for this tune to be finished. I was in the "oh, I'm so much in Love" and "sniff, sob, sigh" thing... But right now, you gave us another dimension to it. You with the capo up 7th... I always refer it to "Here Comes The Sun Tuning", although I learned it for, say, Wishbone Ash, BeaTles and so on... Your interpretation is something new to me. No other players round here ? So I wouldnt ask how you manage to put up an A shape barree and get three fingers in a row even in the 8th pos. I tried that for some wasted 2 or 3 years, only to see Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) up close to show me the way... All we Rock Musicians today would think you are showing "beginner chords", but man, did you teach us a lesson !

So that chord in question (forget the capo) 7 7 9 7 7 7 its an Bm add 4 Agreed ? Bm7 add4 would be 7 7 7 7 7 7 I wrote some wrong things before... no whiskey again... until tomorrow...

Hihi ! I got very mixed feelings about that. Some little details really sound great... oh, wait ! Cant see it at the same time. So, D 7/4 and C 7/4 (all from capo on) right to D: great resolution ! Other things are not his best best ideas... only my take
@konradgundel4247
@konradgundel4247 10 күн бұрын
Damn ! Got it wrong ! So (from capo on) C# 7/4 to B 7/4 ... even better ! But its the lack of any clever modulation again... some things are like "Damn ! Let me glue it all together ! Nobody gonna notice anyway"

And I always thought Black Sabbath were the inventors of the Tritonus ! Of course not, but some similarities to their guitarist Tony Iommi seem very obvious (think of "Black Sabbath", "Symptom Of The Universe" etc.). Even though I play by ear and can find out most everything THAT would have took me an eternity... so thank you ! Btw.: Your guitar with its piezo pickup sounds terrible ! All thin and like 30 years ago. A guy at your level should be able to afford something better. Maybe if I win the lottery, gonna help you out...

Hi Stewart ! Thats a very folky, Ian-sounding rendition. If I'd never heard the original, I would find it another great Ian tune. In this case Mick Abrahams was prominent, and you'd have to tune to an open G chord D G D G B E to catch the original atmosphere, utilizing a slide and play the basic G really fully open (except for the D bass string, of course), and not "Rocker-like" in the style of Keith, Rory and the like. Greets from Berlin, Conny
@DailySporran
@DailySporran 11 күн бұрын
Thank you. Yes it is my own take on it, and youre right that to make it consistent with an acoustic guitar version I've made it more folky-blues. I tried it using the open chord, actually, and while the Mick slide bit worked, I couldnt capture the rest of it with that tuning. Thanks for the feedback & hope all is well!
@konradgundel4247
@konradgundel4247 11 күн бұрын
You are welcome ! Technically, the open G tuning approach is fairly easy. A handful of sixth up the fretboard, 0 and 3 and 5 fully voiced (omit D bass string), the F is "Keith-like" x 5 7 5 6 x for you, and last not least there's an Eb x 3 5 3 4 x Pretty simple, all that. I play open E exclusively, would do that capo up 3rd (think of Rory Gallagher, "In Your Town" etc.!) so as not to be confused where to hit the root... Have a drink on me ! Yours, Conny

I’ve been enjoying IA’s music since discovering it as a 14 year old in 1973. Rok Flote is a great album. I really like Zealot Gene too. I would love to see a concert where he played only the newest stuff that better fits his current vocal range

Let this be another post. I like your version even more than the original, which I find too noisy and "wannabe dynamic". Your chord voicings are also very tasteful. Fun fact: some 30 + years ago I thought I was the inventor of the A full voiced power chord x 0 2 2 5 5 only to later learn that a guy named Andy Powell got the same Taste (Wishbone Ash, I'm sure you like them too). To watch you doing the "4 finger G" (aka "BeaTles chord, "Wish You Were Here chord") is also very amazing. So far I only know 4 guys who can do it like that: Rory Gallagher 1988 here Live in Berlin (maybe he had an injury for a moment), Ted Nugent, I guy cant recall his name, and you. Something to criticize out of jealousy ? Wish I could, like every player... but really, there's nothing. Greets from Berlin, Conny
