Great job! I can’t stand it when a hat leaves a lot of skin or ears exposed. I am going to try and replicate this design. I’ve never tanned anything before. Looking forward to trying!

Thank you. You can do it! Tanning is easier than people think. I’ll have a tanning video out soon

Great video! I love hearing the kids being so vocal in this vlog. Another cool and super important fact about opossum is that they eat 90% of the ticks that roam. Each opossum eats about 5,000 ticks in one season. Imagine how bad the tick population would be without these critters.

Oh, man. It is a bummer that the brahma project didn't go so well especially the loss of the rooster. You will find the perfect bird and method.

Nice! How did you tan and soften the hides?
@seekerstead83312 жыл бұрын
Both of these I did different ways. The crown piece was done with a commercial chemical powder and the sides were done with the old fashioned egg tan. I have mostly done egg or real brain tanning. I’m glad you liked it! Thank you! 😃

Sir, I may suggest going to a breeding/genetics group on FB. You asked for some direction, and I dont want to insult your birds, but you are clearly starting with hatchery Brahmas, which are a LONG way from the breed standard. You will waste a lot of time and money trying to get those to SOP quality. I would suggest getting SOP birds from a breeder to start. There is also a Brahma Color Projecrs group on FB and people who would be happy to answer questions. Also, with the slow maturing rate of this breed, there are very few qualities that you can effectively evaluate in chicks.
@seekerstead83313 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the msg. I am a member of that group and learn as much as I can from you all. I know that the commercial hatchery birds are not sop. However they are what I have and am interested in breeding them the best I can to see how close we can get. I made a more in-depth video nearly 30 min long and went over combs,wattles, beaks, and so forth. I cut this down to just a few points and left it at that. This will be fun either way. I may get new blood later.

It's not dry wood
@seekerstead83313 жыл бұрын
It’s been setting for a year. Most of it is dry. One tree stayed alive though and got leaves last spring. There were a lot of gaps in between all the trees and limbs. It never pressed together real well. That may have had some to do with it too.

Use to be my favorite campground when kids were small. It use to be Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Camp Resort. I even was Yogi there on several occasions. It’s in a great location and there is a trail head near by.

I apologize for the multiple downloads that I have done on this video. I kept having trouble getting all the music to download on here. Sometimes it would miss music in one spot on the video and then on a different download it would have it missing somewhere else. So I settled for this download which does not have the music at the end going through the tunnel.
