Great question! Yes, the Treading Water pattern is a really common one-and it’s actually the pattern I tend to get stuck in when I’m ready to grow. The good news is that being in this pattern isn’t a setback, it’s often a signal that you’re about to make important progress. It’s all part of the process, and there’s no need to judge yourself for it. I’m planning a video for next week where I’ll go into the tools for each of the three patterns, so I hope you’ll check back for some practical tips to help you move forward.♥

Can i heal from drug induced brain damage
@LoriClemmons3 ай бұрын
Self-directed neuroplasticity is still a relatively new field, and we’re continuing to learn what the brain is capable of. While I can’t speak to every situation, I’ve seen firsthand how focusing on calming the nervous system can free up energy and resources for the body to use in repair and recovery. In my own experience, I was told Lupus wasn’t reversible, yet my latest tests show I no longer have it. Approaching your journey with self-compassion and an open mind is key, while being mindful of your well-being along the way. If you’d like to explore these tools further, feel free to reach out.❤

Hi Jo. Here's one in particular that shows how compassionate self-talk reduced pain perception - pretty amazing! www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1526590018310320 A compassionate self-talk protocol was used to manipulate self-compassion. Self-compassion manipulation reduced pain perception. And here's a document that lists many, many studies showing self-compassion and it's relation to greater levels of happiness, optimism, life satisfaction, body appreciation, perceived competence, and motivation, as well as lower levels of depression, anxiety, stress, rumination, body shame and fear of failure. Lots here to go through, especially starting about middle of page 6. self-compassion.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Neff.Germer.2017.pdf Enjoy! I'd love to hear what you come up with and how your practice goes!♥

Thanks for your helpful videos, Lori. I saw you on someone else's video recently and you mentioned you had healed from MCS and mold issues. Does that mean that you don't notice the fragrances anymore, or that the smell is so much less in your in face that you don't really notice or worry about it? Do you still smell mold smells? I believe I lived in a house that had mold as when I moved I noticed a stale, not good smell on everything and reacted. I threw out much of what I owned, washed my clothes in ammonia and kept what seemed safe after that. I couldn't part with some paintings and would like to wipe down the surfaces I can on them and reintroduce to my apt. Just wondering if I'll get to a point that I won't smell them, or if this is a safe thing to do. Thank you.
@LoriClemmons4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience. Since healing from MCS and mold issues, I don’t typically notice fragrances any more than others. When I do, they’re not triggering but enjoyable. As for mold, I still occasionally notice it, but I'm able to guide my limbic system to observe without reacting. Over time, I’ve even revisited items from my past (paperwork, documents that we had sealed up) that used to trigger me, and I no longer react to them. If you’re thinking of reintroducing your paintings, take it step by step, wiping down surfaces, and paying attention to how your body responds. With consistent neural retraining, it’s possible to reach a point where your system doesn’t react. Wishing you all the best on your healing journey!

Very helpful. I’ve been in remission for almost five years and some life events are not being helpful at the moment (don’t want to trigger anyone). I need to get through these events without ending up in the bed. No choice but to participate (one is my daughter’s wedding). Would love content on how to get through a period when you have no choice but to push through. Thank you so much!

@@tallchick1966 First, congratulations on your incredible progress and the hard work you've put into your neural retraining journey! It's so inspiring to hear that you’ve been in remission for almost five years. It's completely normal to face new challenges even after healing physical symptoms. Life events, especially significant ones like your daughter's wedding, can bring up new areas for growth. As you're seeing, neural retraining isn’t a one-time fix but a continuous process of improving our connection with the limbic system. I'm so glad to hear that you're planning to use neural retraining to navigate these upcoming situations. It’s a powerful tool that can help you stay strong and present, even during stressful times. Thank you for sharing your experience and idea. I’ll definitely consider making a video on this topic. Keep an eye out for it soon! Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to talk about more specifics. Sending you best wishes! ♥

Focus on finding joy, calm, peace, and using the tools as ways to do that. So rather than, “I have to do my visualizations,” try “I choose to prioritize finding joy and calm for myself today, so I choose to do a visualization today.” Hope that helps. I’m happy to connect to talk more. 💗

@@jessicaburgers Find what *does* bring you joy and calm and practice more of that. It may be difficult to do at first if you feel always triggered, but even finding just that little bit of calm can be a step in the right direction. For me it was being in nature, snuggling with my kids reading a book, or being around animals. For others, it can be art, music, breathwork, or many other things. And also be aware of your self talk.
