I've seen a variety of teachers make alternate pieces to make a total visual in the tutorial. Some show the stitch, give a multiple of stitches for a section (like, "measure yourself to see how wide you need this piece to be", and which measurements to determine "how tall you want it for your personal size"), then come back and show how to add other parts and tell them how many rows to work, then come back for each change, but leave the rest - like a teacher giving homework. Then they show assembly and finish up the edges. Others have made a doll size version for the tutorial, so they see the entire section (like the top of your sweater), then return to the large piece to add the details (like a mosaic pattern). This is just food for thought to see if any of it might help.

Court jester 🤣😂 I see it now! If you would start with a solid in the round then do the mosaic in the chest area and solid on the bottom again, that would work for a sweater, but that won't work the increases and decreases in the mosaic part. 🤔😊
