Man thanks for the info it pisses me off more that Mopar couldn’t just do this from the beginning instead of us buyers having to go out our way to get this 🤦🏻♂️ this is just like the damn cabin filter you either have to have them cut it out for you or you can do it yourself but why in the hell we have to do anything ourselves if we are paying over $30k for a brand new Truck The only two damn problems I have with RAM everything else have been great

I make wiring kits for this if you want. $40-$60 USD depending on how much wiring you need. Most trucks either have the hood latch connector but aren’t wired back to the BCM or they’re wired at the BCM but not all the way to the hood latch. Either of those scenarios would be $40.

Trailer harness still does not have a dedicated turn signal. I went this route at first but it still requires a module to break out the turn signal and another module to drop out the brake signal when the turn signal is on. I didn’t like the setup with having to use all those modules there I could accomplish better results by just running two wires.

I'm looking at upgrading the tail lights on my 2014 3500 Tradesman. Do you know if it's possible with the BCM in my truck to upgrade to the 5th gen incandescent tail lights with the amber turn signals? Basically trying to mimic the look of a 5th gen Tradesman and have the added benefit of amber turn signals. If this swap is possible, do you made/sell a harness for this upgrade?

Yes, 4th gen BCMs have the turn signal driver circuit needed to break out the turn signal and brake light. Thats how I was able to do it on my truck. I only make the harness for the 5th gen LED tail lights though, I do not make a harness for the incandescent ones.

Or do you have to commit to whichever variant of the LED lights right off the bat?

Can you describe how the fault sense wire works? I see that some tail lights have 3 wires while others have 4 (LED, including fault sense red wire). Thanks!

My understanding is that the fault sense signal gets pulled to ground when the LED light is turned on. If the fault sense circuit remains high or is higher than the BCM expected then the it throws a fault.

I finished the programing and installed 1000 ohm resistor where the latch would be and got the cancelled remote start hood open... FML. Anyone have any links or part numbers for the harness from the fuse box to inside the truck?

I need that wire harness. I can see the purple wire at pin 11 at the BCM end but it’s not terminated in the big connector under the fuse box. Sucks that ram would do all that and cut that one wire off in the harness

You mean it does terminate at the connector under the fuse box? So you just need the wiring with the hood latch connector to the connector under the fuse box? Shoot me an email, I can help you out. [email protected]

@@hydroblueram other way around. The big fat plug has the wires for the hood latch in it but the other half of the connector does not have the wires but pin 11 at the bcm is populated. It just does not full the full way from the BCM to the plug under the fuse box. They must cut it off somewhere in the harness

Matt . I upgraded the CHMSL and the new one have two camera , i am using one for the cargo camera but this my question. How can i use the other camera ? It is just a few inches beside the cargo camera

That’s a 5th gen CHMSL and the second camera is for a digital rear view mirror. I haven’t looked into what it takes to get that working on a 4th gen but I can tell you, if it’s possible, it’s going to be a lot of work.

Installing that new cable does not work anymore Ram stopped wiring all the extra ports on the white box so you can't plug it in to anything that works.

I tried to use it. I have a 2019 and its as I commented. Only two ports currently connected to truck is wired up all the rest no wires are connected to any open ports.

@@Cantgetusernam I’m not sure what you’re saying but I’ve sold cables to people with 2018-2023 4th gens as well as 2019-2023 5th gens and they haven’t had any problems. I myself have a 2019 Classic. Would be helpful if you emailed me pictures of what you are talking about. [email protected]

The demo doesn’t really let you do anything, you need the paid version. And I use the obdlink MX+ mainly but I also have a $30 scanner that works just fine as well.

I like those lights. They are awesome. They are in just the right spot to be able to see them. I drive a loaner car that has warning lights on the inside. They were very convenient because I noticed them easier than in the mirror.

Yes as long as you have power door locks. You just need to turn on RKE with alfaobd, program the new fobs, and then reset the win module.

Man you sure know your stuff. Have a 2016 ram and the previous owner messed up the connection for the speakers so I’m going to redo the pins and remove the whole extra wire they put that didn’t even work.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 classic Regular cab, I was able to add heated and cooled seats very easily because the wiring was already there, is it possible the wiring is already there for push button, RF hub and proxy handles?

I have only ever seen two trucks that had the wiring and both were 2016 2500’s. Makes me think they ram out of harnesses when those were being assembled so they used higher trim harnesses to complete them. 99% sure you will not have the wiring.
