alot of the bands at that time would have pretty much the same formula. every song would have a middle part where a solo would be put. was never a huge fan. but with megadeth, their solos were such a big part of every one of their songs

Hot take but Peace Sells had the best guitar solos of Megadeths career.

Dave's solos are highly thematic and varied while Chris' are kinda chop show off shredding. it has always been more or less like that regardless of the current lead guitarist, each in his own style, and this is incredibly similar to what happened with Chuck and his lead players in Death from Spiritual Healing onwards.

Dave’s sloppiness (literally matches his look) and Chris’ cleanliness is just an awesome contrast. Dave makes you want to punch the wall and break stuff and Chris makes you close your eyes and just feel the music. F*****g legendary.

Love seeing metal drummers with jazz influences, really shows at places like 3:11, with the snare rolls. Gar had dynamic, which is what made him so unique. Don't do drugs.

La version de Dave suena sucia, a lo Kirk. La de Chris suena muy limpia.

Poland is so tasteful. The legato is so clean and the bends are so epic/unique. Dave getting two lead players as unique as Poland and Marty is like 1/1,000,000,000 chance.

2:09 that's not Chris' solo, that's Dave's. At 2:15 yes that's Chris, but before it's Dave. You gotta know the differences between Mustaine and Poland's tone.

Some of Dave's best solos are on this album and Killing..while Poland is clean and has phenomenal legato, the solos sound very improvised and don't have a hell of a lot of melodic phrasing. They are all pretty samey but still killer. I prefer Mustaine's leads mostly because in the mix they sound great and his solos have a lot of cool phrasing...isolated they are quite noisy.

Mustaine's solos aim for a kind of "evil" sound hence the lack of melody. However barring the solo at 1:19 most of them indeed sound very sloppy while using the same kind of scale and trying to shred every time instead of letting it ring. Although Mustaine's solo at 0:44 is fitting for the song. Intro solos at 1:19, 1:47 and 3:02 also fits the songs. At 3:28 you have some Van Halen influence. Poland's solos OTOH sound melodic, diverse and he's capable of reaching the same evil atmospheric (e.g.: 4:33) while he uses a lot more scales than Mustaine not to mention his playing is very clean in comparison. Also Mustaine and Poland are using different effects in their guitars.
