So so bad. So so drunk you can barely stand as you slur out the words someone else wrote. So disrespectful you couldn't even learn it and rely on a stained napkin to read them from.

Horribly off key "singing", instruments recorded on a cheap home recorder, and artwork that looks like it was drawn by a 3 year old.

Why is the drunk guy wearing a mask? He's slurring the lyrics that he has to read off a piece of wrinkled paper. Words cannot describe how bad this whole thing is. The band struggles through the two chord song and as bad as they are, must be ashamed to be backing the guy who cannot annunciate the words let alone sing.

The song has a definite mood to it: a sustained quiet sadness, a sense of loss. Bluesy, but in a reflective, mellow way. I'm having a little (okay, a lot of) difficulty following the narrative, but I get the impression that it's supposed to be abstract. I'm thinking that Twilight Girl is the memory of a lover who died, possibly in a car or plane crash, but that's just the feeling I get from the song. You've got a terrific voice -- in too many of the live performance videos, it's often hard to hear you over the music, but in this one your voice and the music maintain the perfect balance. There are times when your voice gives the impression that you could sing quite smoothly if you wanted to -- or, that you once sang quite smoothly, but ruined your voice from too many cigarettes (legal and otherwise) and drinks. Either way, the end result has a very distinctive sound and a strong personality..."

Hmm: Did I hear the reader correctly?? "After blonde, after blonde, after blonde"?? And a "chinaberry tree"?? Your friend is Very Nice, I'm Sure. But his elocution is lacking. Thus it's hard to discern the words. Sorry, but I Can't say I grasped the Significance of the words, thus I couldn't grasp the message you were seeking to convey. Very Little Vivid Imagery, and Vivid Imagery is a Vital Component of a good poem. Especially a Short one. A Good Poem springs from the Heart and Mind of the poet; expains a significant experience at some time in the life of the poet. But this is Only Part of Good Poetry. Good Poetry consists of words...of lines ..of stanzas to which the Common Man and Woman Adheres, Understands, can claim for his or her Own. A Common/Universal Appeal that causes the reader or auditor to exclaim: "Yes! That's Me!!"
