Im a student and im part of my matric Student Leader program and im involved with the Discipline Portfolio, and im trying to implement this into the School im at , im from South Africa, i feel my school is well developed but has a poor Disciplinary system in the area of DTs and prevention of Student becoming reoffenders. I just finished this video and i love the unbiased points on positive Discipline. I gained so much knowledge from this and i think it can be a great idea for our school to implement. I think many schools throughout South Africa will find this a more Appropriate idea of developing children for a future in a democratic country , proving the respect and sense of Equality in these teachings. I thank you and if u dont mind , i would love for u to comment and give me ideas on ways i can introduce these topics personally

Donna, this is a wonderful session! I'm working with teachers in NJ on Design Thinking. Would you be able to share the slidedeck for the links? Forgive me if you offer it at the end. I haven't gotten to the end yet. Thanks, Eileen

The dimensions and comprehension of “Self” and “Other” are multifaceted and interface multiple disciplines, including the study of psychology in its many forms (biological, evolutionary, cultural, educational, sociological, anthropological, cognitive, analytical), and including the history and study of philosophy, ethics, and religion. Within this broad framework, it becomes imperative to recognize and acknowledge that the conceptualization of “Self” and “Other” emerges from a recognition of similarities as well as apparent differences in human behavior and human development that are intriguingly undergirded by an innate drive toward Wholeness and Completion in the collective human species of Homo Sapiens. I don´t agree that self- confidence comes from within. There are people who don´t work like that, they have tendency to see what´s missing in them and their errors and the things they cannot do and they see however the qualities of others. Thats one of the characteristics of gifted people. And educators at school or bosses at work should detect this need and support more this people because they really need moral support because otherwise they can become really discouraged.

Wow, one of the best videos I have seen on executive function, practical ideas that parents can put into practice than the theory behind Executive function.
