We actually caught the Whelen 4004 sounding off for this test. Boy the 3T22 is a lot louder in the background.

Love to see another siren in Somerset County fire department’s siren get recorded! I got the opportunity to hear this siren go off for a fire call when servicing some mobile/portable radios at their station.

Hello from Canada I really like this siren the hi lo tone at the beginning is music to my ears we dont have thes anywhere in Canada now theres 1 city in Ontario called Sarnia that had these in the 2000s used for hazmat nuclear and severe weather such as Tornados they got replaced by these crappy ones that suck i wqith they were still there

If 2001s are louder without the Back Cover, I think Federal Signal should make a 2001 with an Intake sticking out of the Back or have lots of Holes on the back of the Siren for more Air to come in.

DuBois, PA firefighter here - We currently have 5 fire sirens, each located at their respective fire stations with the exception of 1 which is at the companies old station. The sirens activate for calls with attack cycles of 2-3 minutes. They also activate for Sunday night testing and weather warnings.
