Thanks for coming to our parkrun and making a well documented video of the course. I was the guy on setup at the start sign at 1:50 and in the pantomime horse costume at the finish funnel at 5:23 (as it was one of my outfits when I was performing in the pantomime Cinderella at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby on that weekend). Some additional information if you are planning a visit to Market Rasen Racecourse, speaking as a local member: before the 2020 pandemic, we used to have drinks and refreshments in the AP bar on the racecourse grounds but it could get messy with all of the muddy shoes on a wet parkrun day, but nowadays we often have some of the local attendees bringing home made cakes and sweets which are brought to the finish area. There are a few local cafés, restaurants and pubs back in Market Rasen that have great food and drink such as the Oxford Street chip shop, Aston Arms and The March Hare to name a few, along with the local butchers V.T. Lancaster for good value Lincolnshire meat or Cooplands as well as the Tesco and Lincolnshire Co-Op supermarkets. There are other attractions to the town if you're visiting visiting the day such as Willingham Woods, Bell Park play area, a fitness centre and plenty more. I hope you find this guide useful. 😊

Nice ran, mate. Meant to be a quick course? Would you say on a normal day and with fewer runners, this is one of the quickest courses you have run? Which is your most favourite course from 2023?
@theaverageparkrunner8 ай бұрын
If you start near to the front then yes it is definitely a PB course. Not too many tight turns and extremely flat. I think it is always busy though so you need to start near the front for a PB attempt. My favourite from last year was probably Sherwood pines. A proper one lap course all through woodland on trails paths. It was only the second video I did so not my best vlogging. I may go back and do another vlog there later this year.
@stephenlee16438 ай бұрын
I'd say Alvaston just across the Motorway is as quick. It always feels tricky to keep to the shortest route on these paths! Walsall about an hour down the road is then a similar 'quickness' but with 3 laps can be a bit tricky on the overtakes on the final lap.
