thank you Garth.. great intro and everything you say is true.. even container living, however my husband and i did go that route, wanting to lose the joneses, live as sustainably as we can and being old already, not wanting to end up in an old age home or a flat.. we love animals, the rural lifestyle ..and we did find a community farm, where we could buy land and park our 6 x 40' high cube containers and NO we did not turn them into a modern house.. it has been hard, but if you are fit and tough, you can make it.. we did bore for water, buy a dover stove for winter and build a small dam for swimming in summer.. with a dog, a cat and chickens, we are pretty happy here!!
