Daniel: this is so important. Whenever I get lazy thinking that swaying will increase power I always have a frustrating round. Will the Stack and Tilt concept of weight forward throughout work with the GG ?system
@gravitygolf
@gravitygolf 2 күн бұрын
@ralphsomack9713 The Stack and Tilt is different due to the fact that you still want to have a weight transfer to create ample amount of kinetic energy. Also Stack and Tilt traditionally will put you into a different ball position causing you to hit down on the ball rather than being able to catch it on the upswing with a completely free rotation. Watch the video on how close to stand to the ball as it relates directly to this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn_Zo5-Bm5ycnbc

hi, what about the wrists??? how to get the club face square?
@gravitygolf
@gravitygolf Күн бұрын
@NoelIrl24 In Gravity Golf, the wrists return to square as a natural byproduct of a proper swing sequence and use of gravity. Rather than consciously manipulating the wrists, the focus is on creating a balanced, effortless swing where the body, arms, and club move as a unified system. Here’s how it works: 1. Counterfall and Gravity Assist: When you initiate the downswing with a counterfall, you allow gravity to naturally accelerate the club. This dynamic motion reduces tension in the wrists, enabling them to remain supple and responsive. 2. Lever System and Timing: The club acts as a lever, with the wrists maintaining a relaxed hinge during the downswing. As the body turns through impact, centrifugal force and the natural release of the arms bring the clubface back to square. 3. Connection and Release: By staying connected-letting the arms and hands follow the body’s lead rather than acting independently-the wrists naturally release in sync with the rotation of the body. This ensures the clubface squares without manipulation. The key is not to force the wrists into position but to let them respond to the flow of the swing. Proper drills, like the Front Route Drill or the 1 Handed Drills can help ingrain the natural movement patterns where the wrists return to square automatically.

Using WD40 is not ideal and more messy than it needs to be - the issue is the surface tension of the water. Just add a tiny tiny drop of dish washing detergent to the salt solution and it will break the tension allowing the balls to spin very freely. Also use Epsom Salts (Basically bath salts) for getting easier buoyancy.

How does this technique work with irons? Do you want to be hitting up in the fairway? Especially thin Bermuda fairways 😳
@gravitygolf
@gravitygolf 13 күн бұрын
@cmking3999 Yes, you do. It will still create plenty of spin to check up. It actually makes the tighter lies easier, very much like how to hit shots out of a fairway bunker. Practice with more club than you need to first regulate your tempo and help grow your sensitivity to the bottom of the arc. Here is a good video from Jim Furyks talking about it. instagram.com/share/_msrxLMj-

After getting in touch again in my middle 30's with golf, having been a golfer as a kid, traditional instruction seemed to me way off the tracks. This is the kind of thinking that fits to what my intuition has been telling me the last weeks...golf swing should be a flow dance with the forces you are producing and what you want to happen...

Isn't the concept of keeping the weight forward leading to more consistent contact also a Stack and Tilt principle, also promoting a draw? Is keeping the weight over the heels a training techinique or something done on the course with every club in the bag except when chipping?
@gravitygolf
@gravitygolf Ай бұрын
@ralphsomack9713 Hi Ralph. From what I know of "Stack and Tilt," the weight will stay on the left the entire time, which is what we refer to as a "no shift shot." This can work well for short shots or partial distances. However, you will lose about 10% of your full distance that way due to the lack of momentum you lose without unweighting the front side. There are also some other caveats I've seen that are different in the way they deal with ball position and how that will relate to the rotation through impact that could internalize more energy which can be harder on the body.

I’ve been using this swing for a long time and there’s really nothing you could do better for yourself than to adapt to it. It’s effortless power because the club feels vertical at the top of the swing rather than horizontal. So when you make the transition, everything just whips together. When the hands feel vertical, it feels like there’s almost no weight in your hands, and you can whip it as hard as you want, once the downfall begins. The trick for me is to wait till I turn my shoulders and let the club start dropping, and THEN you can go full force on it.

Hey Danny, at 4:38 ish you mentioned having your weight towards the heels just before you heave the club back. Can you expand on that vs having the weight in the center of feet or towards the balls? I tried putting weight towards the heels and it seemed to make a huge difference so far in an indoor practice area. Going to try at the range.
@gravitygolf
@gravitygolf Ай бұрын
@HBHS16 by moving the weight into the right heel, it acts as a cantilever for the weight of the club and the arms to be more easily lifted up by the momentum of the body moving back.
@HBHS16

@ so they weight moves to the right heel as the club is set in motion. Not before the club is set in motion? Just trying to make sure I understand THX

I always struggle with "laying" the club in the backswing (club is too flat in the backswing and then gets to steep in the downswing). Too much hand action in the backswing. Maybe you can do a video regarding this issue. Thank you very much.

Wow. The info between 2:30 and 3:00 is gold (for me). I had previously been using my backswing heave with the intent of throwing my arm weight up. This works well enough, but my hands always ended up below shoulder height, and tilted a bit off vertical. I was using my “first release” to tweak the club shaft more vertical at the top. After this video I experimented with changing my “core heave” intention to be simply throwing my chest and belly to face away from the target, no intention of trying to heave the arm weight. Immediately I saw my hands were higher, nearly perfectly vertical shaft, and closer to my right shoulder. What a difference! No longer need to use my first release time to tweak the shaft orientation. Thanks so much!
