Um, you do realize that this is not a commuter train, it's a LIGHT RAIL train.
@mattlanta88 Жыл бұрын
So, people who work at the mall and ride the train to get there aren’t commuting?
@Ih8kone Жыл бұрын
@@mattlanta88 no, I am saying that there is a difference between commuter rail and light rail.

Impressive. Good camera angles. Florida is such a great place! What does the outside of the Jacksonville depot look like? Or, it's interior, for that matter? I know that some would like to see Jacksonville Terminal used as a depot again, but doubt that'd happen. Amtrak never liked those stations whereby back-up moves were required. Only takes two 4000hp (or 4200hp) GE locomotives to handle Auto Trains, whereas it used to require three F40PHs. They also used those General Electric P30CHs up through the 1980s, but I don't think the passenger railroad was happy with their performance.

The station is not bare bones but clean and functional. I agree that Florida is a great place for train spotting and the FEC yard is a great place to visit.

The outside of the station is near and clean. The trackside of the station is wonderful. Very spacious covered from the sun.

That's not backwards. Its actually the safer way to run a train. Its quite common. If there's not a wye at the origin of the train (which it looks like a Gainesville Grain train), the engines pull the consist Long Hood Forward. For grain trains its very common. I've lived near and railfanned at that exact line all my life and LHF Grainers come through at LEAST twice a month. Its not backwards. Backwards would be the engines on the rear, pushing the train forwards with a railcar on the visual "front" of the consist.

That was not the "erie lackawana". That was the delaware lackawana and western heirtege unit. The heirtege unit you saw was one of the railroads that merged with the erie railroad to form the Erie lackawana

Nice capture of the horses of a different color SD60M TRI-CLOPS and another hard working EMD SD70ACe bringing up the rear. NS proves whatever BNSF throws away, they can overhaul and make it last another day.
