So many ways to make chili. I enjoy the flavor of both, but my husband not so much. He enjoys the meat and sauce.

Here in Southern California these grow like weeds and multiply into huge clumps. I have to dig out the excess to keep them from encroaching into my other plants. That being said, they are lovely when in bloom, completely evergreen and the blooms can last a couple of months.

I just bought a plate of these (made with walnuts) at a church bake sale today. It was labeled "praline cookies". I googled them to see how they are made, and the only thing that looked similar was a photo from your video. I am so glad to have found you! Yes, yesterday was October 31. When I was a child in the 1960s, Halloween was a fun day of the year when we got to dress up in our costumes and masks aka "door/dough face" and go to town and trick or treat. One could cover a lot more ground quicker in town than in the country in getting their paper bags filled with candy. Also, our elementary school would have a Halloween Carnival one night during the week of Halloween and that was so much fun. Our classrooms would be decorated with black cats, bats and ghosts, all made from poster board and taped to the walls. That was in the "Mayberry Days" of my Alabama childhood when nothing else was made of it other than just pure fun of being spooky one day of the year. We all went to church and Sunday school and never, ever even dreamed of devil worship, or the holiday having any evil meaning. It really makes me sad for children now not to have innocent fun such as that was.....

I love this! Exactly the way I remember Halloween when I was growing up. I always loved the Halloween Carnivals...apple bobbing, fishing, cake walks, corn shucking contests, etc...so much fun!!

One of the nearby Walmarts carry the short loaf of the homestyle white bread. Kroger advertises it does as well. I used to go to the local Publix market, in the bakery, and they would see you a half loaf of anything which was great as you could buy half loaf of pumpernickel, half loaf of rye, etc.

Yum! I love the strawberry and cream cheese combination. Another good one is to make a basic pimento cheese (cheddar, garlic, onion, mayo, etc.), form it into a ring on a platter. Press chopped pecans into the ring. Place strawberry preserves or jam in the center and serve with crackers.

Have you ever made it in a Bundt pan? I don’t have a tube pan, I did at one time and never used it. Just wondering if that would work or if I should invest in a tube pan. Thanks for the recipe, can’t wait to make it!

I have never tried this in a bundt pan. Those tend to be smaller, and my concern is that it would not be large enough and might run over. However, if you feel your pan is large enough, I think it would be perfectly fine to try it. Hope this helps.
