My cousin I recently lost from WV took me to this stream. That day we did about 4 miles up stream and back fall trout fishing. Talked about doing a 2-3 day fly fish trip up otter. This video was cool to see the parts in the beginning we where at AND the parts I haven't that I'll bring another friend along to experience. Good video man.

Been watching your videos for a while now. Really like the ones from West Virginia. Hiked most of the trails in Dolly Sods Otter Creek and Seneca Creek area. Great to see a new hike here. Any plans for a new one with the gang, or new ones in WV?

Thank you SO much for posting this! My wife and I have hiked Hidden Passage and Rim trails many times over the past 20 years. I absolutely adore the Roaring Plains/Flatrock Plains wilderness and backpack there every summer. Please post more videos of this area!

Possibly backpacking Otter Creek this weekend with my buddy and my pup. This video helped me understand the trail a bit and to know what to expect as far as stream crossings. The water should be pretty low right now I think, but we may see here soon. I'm impressed with y'all doing this in January! I live in Tucker County so I know how rugged it can be.

Imma hillbilly. The gear I tested on this hike was some walmart sneakers, a sweater I found on a parking lot, and a used Gatorade bottle with some 550 nylon.

Curious why you usually knock cairns down but don't mind your friend moving rocks around in the creek to make your creek crossing easier
@blueridgeboy1981
@blueridgeboy1981 Жыл бұрын
Easy answer. I usually kick over cairns that serve no purpose. The ones in remote areas that are important, I leave. We moved the rocks because it's fucking January and didn't want to get hypothermia from being soaked in 20 degree weather. 🙃 🤨

Only our feet got wet, as apposed to our entire bodies. We moved one rock so that we wouldn't freeze. Anything else?

Otter Creek Wilderness in January is tough. Please don't knock down trail cairns as you put other groups in danger. Rock piles with no purpose you can knock down. Great video. Otter Creek Wilderness is the most difficult wilderness in WV. I know.

That stream area past Eckville gets really buggy…I think you chose wisely stopping at the shelter. Mmmm, awesome stop at Thunderhead. Argh, knifes edge in the rain is a little slippy…fun though. Beautiful shot of the bear…until it’s not. That must have been really unnerving with it tracking you. I’m so glad you videoed the secret trail to the ski resort…I always wanted to visit that and likely will next time I hike through here. I was pleasantly surprised with NJ. Wow, the porcupines were really cool, great hike and video!
