Thanks🥰, Glad you liked the art. Starting off with grayscale just somehow made sense to me since I used to always draw using a pencil. It doesn’t matter how you approach the process of creating as long as you’re enjoying what you’re doing and you pride yourself on the result regardless of the quality.

Thank you! glad you appreciate it, I'm not that well versed yet on art when it comes to teaching and giving tips to people. My best advice given to me is to just follow along on industry professionals (that's at least what I did), as observing and applying their techniques has made even the slightest difference with my projects. I apologize if I cant give you any actual helpful tip.

I use Huion h420 for a very long time and 3 months ago I upgraded to an XP Pen Artist 12, been using it ever since

I used softlight (sometimes I would use overlay if I need something extreme) then calibrate the layer by using curves

I now just upgraded to a Ryzen 5 with integrated radeon graphics, finally am able to upgrade from my outdated 2012 laptop. I usually work around 3000x2300 (300res) as this is where my old laptop caps due to performance issues, just last month I am able to increase my canvas size depending on the drawing but I still do use the 3000x2300px (you can flip the numbers for portrait viewing, but retain the 300dpi/resolution so it looks good digitally and also through prints)

Thank you, glad you loved it!❤ The best tip I can give you in my drawing process is just understanding what "shadow" is as supposed to behave in light. Most artists draw with the light aspect and figuring out how light should behave in their art: Light is very complex, the way it behaves in the environment takes a lot of experience and deep understanding, I'm not smart enough for that and definitely not experienced enough to understand it; so, I'll just do the latter which is playing around the shadow aspects. Hope I was able to deliver that tip properly, because it's hard to put it into words.
