Does ABA discrete therapy work though ? I know from my experience raising an autistic child that it didnt work and we ended up using highly play based therapy techniques and child led approaches instead.

I am so interested in visiting this school. How do I apply for a full scholarship for my son to attend Elija? Also is it possible to be placed at Elija if we live in Brooklyn? We will be relocating from the Caribbean to NYC Brooklyn soon. So I am clueless when it comes to state rules and procedures with schooling and transportation.

This is a really incredible organization and school. Brings awareness to autism and interventions and allows individuals with autism to grow and be the best people they can be. And it also works with independence skills. Way to go

Although this place does seem great, the fact that they talk about the fact there isn’t a cure for autism like it’s a bad thing on their website is horrific.

I have Asperger Syndrome, and I am thinking about possibly starting a school or alternative education program that is geared toward school age children (pre-K through high school) who are on the Autism Spectrum. Can you please tell me what I need to know, have, or do in order to start a special school or educational program? I already know that I will want to know the percentage of children in the area who are on the Autism Spectrum, the number of schools and education programs in the area that are geared toward school age children on the Autism Spectrum, and the average household income in the area.

Hi, I'm 23 years old (24 at the end of June), and have an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis (it used to be called Asperger Syndrome). I am thinking about possibly starting a school, or alternative education program for school age children (pre-K or Kindergarten through high school) who happen to be on the Autism Spectrum. I'm thinking of including children all over the spectrum. From those who have little to no difficulty communicating verbally, and would otherwise be able to function ok in a regular classroom (but struggle with social skills), to those who have significant difficulty with communication, and would find it very difficult to function in a regular classroom. What do I need to do or have in order to start a special school or alternative program? What do I need to know (other than the percentage of children in the area who are on the Autism Spectrum, the number of schools or special programs in the area that are geared toward children on the Autism Spectrum, and the average household income in the area)?

There are 2 schools like that in the city I live. One is preschool through 3 years of grade 12 for students with either autism or difficulties related to autism. And the other is Grade 1-12(1 year) only for autistic students.

If either of the schools I went to had me working at a pizza place, and I was allowed to buy pizza when my time was up, I would have wanted to buy pizza for the whole class (or even the whole school) if I could.

like I said and in another video you guys have a great concept but please keep them a little bit more than the fundamental like to balance a checkbook going grocery shopping relationships all that stuff that they don't teach you in high-school or college even maybe college but you have to go for an advanced degree for that but anyways I like what you doing continue to grow happy 2017
