I totally missed seeing this video last year and I love this and Phantom of the Opera! I have to do a theme like this. I want to make a big “mirror” window that I can open and then have the seen of them in the boat on the other side. Then another page spread of those fancy balcony seats hanging over Dutch door style and the audience and/or stage below. Ideas vs execution…… lol I will give it a go!

The pentel mattehop matte gel pens seem like they really pop on black paper, if you're looking for more colours / other pen options ❤

Fantastic setup. Those filmstrips turned out really well. I love photography; took it myself as well. Trying to slowly get back into it. Did you actually stop making weekly spreads or do use your phone or use a different journal?

It’s really handy to have pens swatched on all the paper types! I have a ring notebook that I insert in the different papers I use (black, white, gray, and tan) and swatch all my stationary on them but still have them all in one place!

Beautiful set up as always! I did a pirate theme for my reading journal this year. So fun! 🏴☠️🌊 I love your use of vellum for the sails! Such a good idea. I’m also right by the Palisades fire. It’s so heartbreaking to see the footage, and hear that loved ones have lost their homes. And the winds were so scary!!! So relieved that the fire has been significantly contained at this point, and for all the first responders in the action.

What a gorgeous set up. I need to find a better set of white pens, yours go on so smoothly. Being up in the PNW I know it is hard dealing with fires, hang in there and take breaks when ever you need.

DefinIitely limit social media and news watching. You need to watch enough to know what's happening, but don't be glued to the TV. I live just south of Tampa, FL and we got a pretty close hit with two hurricanes this fall. I am a weather geek and love watching it. However, it really can develop into just gut wrenching fear. I watch enough to know the current track, but then I turn it off. I also encourage friends and family to NOT watch Jim Cantore because then they get all worked up and reach out to us, and we're already worked up enough. I feel you. We'll be praying for you and an end to these fires too. In the meantime, I love the pirate theme. Thinking about doing one for April or the summer months. My other months I have plans for already, but I do still have a couple open and have been thinking about pirates. Stay safe!

I feel the same! I'm also a weather geek but it got to be too overwhelming for us, so disconnecting was much needed. I appreciate the well wishes 🤍 A pirate theme is always a good idea 🤭

Coffee shop with a stationery shop sounds fantastic…set it up in my town and I’ll be there almost every day…there’s a Portuguese cafe with great tarts that I’d have to get to as well!!😊

Thisis such a cute and cozy journal! I did an entire month with black paper back in June and it was really fun! I hate bigger-tipped pens though, so I actually found a set of pastel colored Juice Up pens on amazon and used those. They are WONDERFUL! The colors are vibrant, and I loved having pink, blue, green, and purple to use! I will do another month this coming year in black for sure!

My planner and journals are so different from yours but seeing you work on yours gives me inspiration for working on mine :) Also I LOVE coffee and coffee shops. I live in Portland and go out about twice a week just for the ambiance and people watching … I have a nice coffee maker at home but it’s still fun to go out

I did a similar coffeeshop set up in September with warm browns, neutrals and black paper with just a touch of matcha green. The black chalkboards were so very fun to set up that I am doing a sort of antique schoolroom/ School Marm themed 2025 set up just so I can do more chalkboards. Your cover spread is just gorgeous and your sweater is the coziest perfect match. I need to start being braver about dismantling old books.
