Theoretical hydraulics: calculate the PDP for a 3" line gated and reduced to 2 1.5" lines gated and reduced to 2x 3/4" pencil line siamesed back up to a 1" line with a 40gpm nozzle at 50psi. Practical hydraulics: start around 120psi and go from there. Make sure you set your relief valve and fuhgettaboutit!

Yes, your story didn’t add up. Canada isn’t south of Massachusetts.😂 By the end of this video, you made it clear that you shouldn’t be out and driving around. You need some serious help. Also, if you died at that intersection, it’d be because you were too busy filming to notice the light you were at turned green - which puts you at risk of being rear ended by another driver. No rain, but you had your winshield wipers on… A few fries short of a Happy Meal, are we?

Drowning is typically caused by inexperience, panic, hypothermia, debris and/or exhaustion. Water is incredibly deceptive - what can look peaceful and calm can knock you off of your feet in milliseconds, tangle you in floating vegetation, knock you around in the current and sap your strength quickly from cold and battering. Rescuing a panicked or exhausted person in water can be extremely dangerous as they're prone to try to use the rescuer as a means to get out of the water. Best to have them try to grab a floatation device if one is available or try to do what these people are doing and get a strap, rope or harness around them and drag them to safety (you can't rely on them grabbing it as they are often too weak to hold on or too panicked to grab it). I spent the better part of my younger years surfing off of the California coast while also taking advanced swim and water survival classes. Water, even in seemingly calm situations, can be incredibly dangerous and deadly. In situations like this people are incredibly lucky to survive.

@MyFormerSelf Sorry, sir, I'm missing your point and what it has to do with what i said. I was trashing YT/Google for not promoting content from SMEs (like Nuke in HazMat, or me in Wildland Fire) on relevant life safety things like this. I tried to post on evacuating from a wildfire during the summer: BURIED. It's BS - and that's YT's fault and who i was calling out

Storms out west are a different critter: not much rain, LOADS of lightning, TONS of new fire starts. They may or may not have lots of wind and cause blowdown. One crazy thing that happened where i grew up was we'd have hot dry summers and dust would accumulate on top of transformers. First fall rains would be light, so it would make mud that would get just high and wet enough to arc the terminals. I remember we spent a 48 just going from power pole fire to power pole fire with like 3 hrs of sleep the whole shift. 😵

During my USFS Fire career, I was a Prevention Officer and Fire Investigator for about half of that time - there's a growing library of research on "firebugs" and mental health issues surrounding that behavior. All of it falls squarely in the "no bueno" category, including Antisocial Personality Disorder (psycho/sociopathy); boredom/excess time might provide the "opportunity", and being a firefighter definitely provides the "means" to know where and how to light a fire for maximum effect, but motives? Those lie somewhere else. Still, we're here to HELP, not cause harm, and folks not on that page need to find a different career path.
