The concept design is called Aquarius Eco Handymax and parts of this system are being installed on a ship now.

sailing into the wind with sails is a bitch. Sailing into the wind using solar and wind energy with an electric motor is much easier.

To make more electricity it just simply built or upgrade the gasoline or diesel driven generator by changing it to electric driven instead of gasoline or diesel so the solar or wind energy will give the free electricity ? 👶

Of course it's enough. It takes very little energy to keep a ship moving once it's in motion. They'd use stored energy in batteries to get it going, then it would be able to maintain speed just from sunlight, and would have a surplus so the battery would recharge too.

Hyrbrid-electric vessel are already in use today & adding sial devices & solar will provide emissions free sources of additional energy.

NO WAY...would I want to travel in a SHIP designed like that! To start with..Most RoRo ships(a lot of other types too) are Inherently "Unstable" and US Water Ballasting all the time to keep Upright! IMAGINE those SAILS affecting stability everytime a GUST of wind hit em? (WOW)...Sailing Ships are Designed with this in mind, and have DEEPER Drafts that Commercial Freighters !

those are utterly small sails, thats why they are spread along the whole ship, my catamaran has much less draft than any monohul (around 60-80cm) and can boast a 12meters mast

@@emmanuelmeysman820 how does that even come here, he did not say to make it a catamaran, he said there is no need for ballast as those sails are tiny for the size of the ship

They could ship clean drinking water to other countries, but it would probably be easier to install solar-powered desalination plants in those countries.
