It’s frustrating LEER can’t manufacture a topper that fits perfectly with TACOMA body. There should t be any overhang along the sides.

How are you mounting the Sherpa to the tracks on the Leer cap? I have the Sherpa on my Tacoma roof but I dont know how I could do the rack on the Thule tracks Leer is installing.

I just spent $500 at the dealer because the POS Pedal Commander shorted out my throttle body, caused warnings of failures in the anti collision avoidance System and Brake override malfunction. Don’t buy one.

Appreciate the review I was second guessing my purchase and was going to send it back without trying it. I am wanting to overland outfit my Tacoma and was wondering if I needed the PC due to the cost but I think I ll stay with it.

I would stick with it. I’m over 2 years zero issues at all. And much more enjoyable to drive in my opinion!

I had wanted to stick with mine too, @@Overlandtravel_adventures , but after three weeks of use it started to malfunction. It would arbitrarily reset itself on start up to a different level of tune. I looked up problems with the Pedal Commander on the internet and found multiple cases of dead pedal, Check Engine Lights, Collision Avoidance System issues and Brake Override malfunctions to name a few. I wish I had investigated it more thoroughly before the purchase. They wanted to send me a new one to replace the faulty device. I requested an RMA and a refund. I returned it to them and they only refunded 87% of what I spent. It cost me $38 to find out it was not worth the cost. The malfunction was, I believe, the fact that it uses the 5 volt supply meant for the ECM. That 5 volt supply does not produce enough current to power anything over and above the ECM. I don't recommend the Pedal Commander.

Mine “ARE” cap had original Yakima bar. So I reused their bolts which were stainless steel. And they had square nuts in there as well, so no need to remove end caps, so to speak

I'm just curious to know what your experience was putting the boards back on the pins AFTER you used the boards off-roading. I'm asking because it was a challenge getting the boards onto the pins when everything was brand new. There is no way I'm getting the boards back onto the pins after I use them. One little tweak in the boards and maybe I might get 2 of the pins to align. Thanks in advance.

Exactly what I was looking for. Just subscribed. Prinsu does not have a spec sheet on these mounts so question for you. Do you know how many inches from cross bar to the top of the pins? I park in a public garage with low ceilings (long story) so before I purchase have to make sure I got the ceiling clearance. Thanks in advance.

My tracks are about 1/4 or so too far apart. My brackets on prinsu cap rack are all the way to the edges and it's too short to bolt up. Anyone else have this issue

Informative video. I replaced the map lights, dome and vanity lights on the drivers side only. I find that the vanity lights are to bright.

I recommend trying out the Banks Pedal Monster because the Banks Pedal Monster is the only throttle booster that turns off when you put the vehicle in reverse which is A much safer option. It also gets its power from the OBD port so you will never get dead pedal because if it were to ever malfunction it automatically turns off and goes back to stock.

Last time, the engine quit 150mi from the nearest dealership. Luckily I was able to reset the computer. Thanks for the video, much appreciated.

I realize this is a year old, but…. If you haven’t already, you can tap the yellow wire to an ignition source inside that fuse box the controller is sitting on top of. Simply look for any source that is on with the key, then use an add-a-fuse. This will ensure the lights go off when you turn off the vehicle.

Good videos helps out alot. Just downsized to a Tacoma and the other American trucks had a Snup Top in which quality has hit rock bottom. So this video helps.. being from up state and snow, rain and winter weather how do the Win windows hold up as far as leaking? They look like a great option. Thanks for sharing.

Hey! all hardware come with the products, nothing else was needed! I do pull the camper with the 4runner. We have not gone far, it's not a ton of fun but it does it. We are now selling the camper due to lack of time and going to a Gazelle and hopefully a rooftop tent soon!
