'Course Scourge have a lot of great CAW ships. Those Djinn frigates and the Strix light cruisers are fast and can hit like a ton of bricks. The challenge is getting them into Scald range. You can use Silent Running, take very careful advantage of terrain, hide Djinns in atmosphere, and then use their speed to pounce. Getting the tactics choice, maneuver, and timing all correct is learning curve for Scourge players.

Important bomber note: Each bomber above six takes away *one* save, not saves equal to its number of attacks. So if 12 Resistance bombers scored 18 hits, the defender would roll 12 saves. (I had trouble following the action in the video, but I want to make this clear to viewers.) If multiple bomber wings attack a single target, they combine into a single attack. It doesn't matter whether the wings combine or not. This matters for the reduced saves from wings over 6 and also makes a big difference with the new Aegis rules in 2.2.

Lima could not use detector in rule on silent run as long it hasn't stealth rule and fully prevented from attack with its weapon so cannot use it's detector as well

It is a high initial rules curve, however I remember that also being the case with Armada. It took about a year before I became really comfortable with the Armada rules and even then, I was still getting some interactions wrong up to last Adepticon!

@1h48m45s Defiant got 1 hit total. And the Jem'Hadar Fighter took 1 shield damage. BUT! The Jem'Hadar Fighter's Evasion is 2. So there should have been no damage applied.

I'm nearly halfway through and I am enjoying this so far. I'm looking forward to starting my campaign this weekend (and of course finishing the video when I have time). You knew this comment was coming though... In the spirit of increasing understanding of this admittedly complex game, there are some things I want to point out. 1) Daring First Officer's stats add up to 3, so his Flex cost would be 3, not 1 (Additional Rules, page 51). 2) For the Tactical Sweep action on the Hostile Raiders situation card, the Analysis kicker effect is part of the blue field, which means that the test must be successful to use it. By contrast, the Sensor Sweep action on the Neutral Zone Survey overture card has it in a yellow field, which means it can be used pass or fail. 3) You had said something to the effect that distance across system boundaries is infinite and that ships cannot affect each other across these boundaries. I have had this question myself and tried to find a rule, but could not find one. If you (or anyone) has a citation to share with me, please do so. However, the best clue I could find was in the Combat section of the Learn to Play Guide (page 24) which says "The attacker and target cannot be in different systems, but *either or both* can be outside a system (in deep space)." So a ship in deep space could attack a ship in a system and vice versa. My assumption has been that any range can be measured across system boundaries, but some actions specify that units must be in the same system. Thanks for all the work you have put in to this and please don't take this as criticism except of the most constructive sort.

Thanks for some of the callouts. For 1, you are correct. I did know that and just had a brain lapse when explaining to Bodhi and later editing. For 2, the color of the text doesn't matter for the analysis and is probably a misprint. The analysis rules on page 22 step 7 of learn to play do not have any restrictions. Whereas Breakthroughs do. For 3, page 14 "measuring between areas" of learn to play covers the "infinite range" (my wording) rules minus attacking. It appears attacking is an exception. I just had a long discussion with Ken from Ion about this and he is going to ask the Devs.

Wow, thanks for the citation on #3. That spells it out quite plainly. That might have changed some things in my last game. It will be nice when all the rules are finally put up in one place. I'm still not sure about #2. Partly because it seemed like the Influence marker was bouncing around way too freely and randomly to truly be called "influence," but it could also be interpreted that the Analysis result in question is "unlocked" as part of the "Success" effects mentioned in step 6 since it is part of that box. I guess we will find out if it is really a misprint or what the intention is.
