I looked up if the show was canceled, I have one more episode to go lol but I can't imagine they wrap everything up in one episode. The internet didn't disappoint in explaining why. I agree with one review comment that mentioned some thought that the pacing was off. It wasn't until the end of season 2 and most of 3 that I get better time-space references. At first, it looked like day by day events. When in reality it was weeks or months. So it made relationships look like love at first sight but somehow acted like they knew each other for a while. It felt unrealistic with a teen twilight vibe, relationship wise. I think if they gave more timeline references it would help understand the development of relationships even though it needed to be compressed details. Now I'm looking forward to reading the books.

I appreciate your review on why they made show-to-book changes because it is for production purposes vs just hating on not staying true to the book!

One of the things that bothered me the most is how they made Satu more prominent, and made her seem on par with Diana, so seeing her flop at the end, was...weird. Also the Congregation chamber is nowhere near as beautiful as in the books... Edit: I also would have loved seeing an younger Ysabeau, just to kind of underline how weird it is to a casual viewer that they're always young. I also wish the vampires were paler, like they're described

I don't feel watching the show that Matthew is creepy, BUT I do think he is extremely controlling. I also think that Diana over looks a lot of things he does in season 2 of the show. Hès out there torturing people for witchcraft and she's cool with it. He says they are married now and she goes along with it? Theres just things I question about them.
@aims285923 күн бұрын
I understand, but to be fair Matthew and Diana were like that in the books too, so it's not necessarily the fault of the show, it was only adapting the source material

15:45 THIS 😭 in Tallstar's super edition, we learn that Tallstar and Barkface are the same age. Barkface *should* have died shortly after the Clans arrival at the lake territory but he lives until sometime between PoT and OotS. Mudfur (a RiverClan medicine cat, also Leopardstar's dad) must have been around Barkface's age as well, except he died before the Clans had even left the original forest.

One thing they changed in the show I didn't like was Matthew letting Gillian live. I get it because the writers made her a lot more sympathetic in the show than the book character, but it took some of the weight out of being a vampire's mate. But overall, I agree that the first season was a very good adaptation that improved on the book in a lot of ways! And casting Angelica Houston and Alex Kingston as the matriarchs was a boss move. They both killed their roles throughout the series.
@aims28592 ай бұрын
Totally agree! I 100% meant to mention that they changed the Matthew/Gillian thing but it slipped my mind. I'm guessing they were worried how viewers would react to the idea of Matthew murdering someone Diana used to be friends with, especially since in Season 2 we actually witness the nitty gritty stuff he does in London as opposed to only hearing about it via Diana in the 2nd book.

Hey there! New fan! I discovered your channel earlier when I saw part one of this series. I'm gonna warn you, if you do end up reading the third arc in the Warriors series "Power Of Three", just know that some of the books in that series aren't very well liked. Some of them are boring, the pacing is incredibly slow and the plot is basically non-existent. However a lot of important things to know happen so I wouldn't recommend skipping it entirely. Some books in POT have a lot of issues.. for example Outcast, which is pretty bad. I literally got so bored reading Dark River that I stopped reading halfway through and just listened to a book summary. If you're gonna read the third series in Warriors, go for it! I'd love to hear your thoughts! But just know it's not exactly the best... Eclipse is probably my FAVORITE book in Power Of Three. It's basically famous for a certain scene and character.. One more thing to say! -Erin Hunter also has a similar series to Warriors, but it has dogs instead! It's called Survivors! It's not very well known or popular as Warrior Cats but I'd love to see your thoughts on that too!
@aims28595 ай бұрын
I've read POT already! Probably twice when I was younger. I stopped reading after the end of OOTS so I know everything that happens up until the end of that arc. I did start filming a readthrough of POT a few months ago but got a bit burned out around Eclipse. I might continue though if these videos pick up traction again! And tbh I don't really like dogs hahaha so that's why I never read Survivors. I did read Seekers (the bears) as a kid though!

I cancelled my adult and ya subs last year because I felt the book selections just weren’t good! And then for several months (or it seemed that way) they did the cover art on the stenciled edge. And I hate that! Do something else! My last adult book was Shanghai Immortal which I’m very excited to read. I started it once and I was enjoying it, but I’m a mood reader and something else caught my eye. For the YA sub, some of the picks were letting me down, but it was mostly the editions that had me cancelling my sub. I wanted to cancel my YA box after I received the disappointing June box. But they were boasting “This edition is very unique and different from our norm!” Once I received my book I was disappointed AF! They had done all the elements before so I don’t get how they could even say this. I hate when they just flat out lie about what to expect in a book or their items. The prior month was Sing me to Sleep and they promised “This edition looks like the sea in book form and we love it.” Don’t make that kind of promise if you can’t pull through. I was so upset. I love the ocean and mermaids and sirens. This edition was pathetic. I’m subscribed to the Romantasy box. The first book is out for delivery today! I have high hopes because the editions and selections of both adult and ya have been so much better this year! And this will be my only subscription.

these reviews are really showing me how much i read these book out of order/ skipped books because my school library didn't have all of them. while the first series was definitely the best, i really think i remember the characters from the third series the best, especially with the blind medicine cat (i don't remember his name) and the specials. my favorites were always yellowfang's special and the SkyClan special (i think that was the first one i read). the scenes with the rats in that one terrified me

I LOL as I watched what you packed. You had so many more pieces than I would think anyone would need for ten days. Are you unable to do any laundry on your trips? I didn't see you mention your outer layers, didn't you need waterproof layers, a wind layer? I'm going mid may through July and i'm only taking a travel capsule hiking wardrobe that is fully half of what you packed. Did you find you over-packed? Also that dirty clothes bag is usually for dirty and one side is for wet, like towels, swimsuits.
@aims28599 ай бұрын
We did not have access to laundry at any of the places we stayed and did not want to waste hours of a day doing laundry somewhere else. I'm glad that you are taking only a travel capsule, everyone should do what works best for them and this worked perfectly for me based on the things we planned on doing. I did have a raincoat too.
